Can the Amex Platinum Charge Card be used for income tax and insurance payments? Will it give reward points for the two?

Yes. However not sure about the gateway charges. Those can be as high as 2%.

No reward points for Income Tax payments by using Amex. However, you can use Amex Platinum Travel and get milestone benefits. In a way, plat charge is useless for Tax payments

Paid income tax using Amex via Canara Bank PG. It is working.

This is great way to complete Amex milestone when most cards (except hdfc bizblack) not giving any points for tax payments.

Hey, I tried it as of 24/02/25 and canara payment gateway is not accepting the AMEX card

I have made Advance Tax payments twice recently - 30 Jan 25 and 04 Feb 25. Used Amex Plat Travel credit card.
Both times through Canara Bank Gateway. It worked smoothly. In one go. No issues at all.

The charges were 0.91% + 18% GST = 1.07% of the transaction value.
