Amex Taj vouchers

I got my Amex platinum travel card in 2020. And have reached the 4L milestone in 2020, 21 and 22. In between Amex had some monthly spend based offers on my wife's Gold charge card which we scrubbed. So I've 50k worth of Taj vouchers. I've not used the vouchers before so wanted to ask if there were any hidden terms and conditions and how I can go about the booking?

For example, if I want to use the vouchers for a 3 night stay in Taj Mahal Palace, New Delhi

1. Can I use multiple vouchers for stay of multiple nights?
2. Few vouchers on my card and few on my wife's card. Is that fine?
3. Anything apart from stay is covered with these vouchers?
4. Are there any minimum charges we need to bear like GST etc we need to bear?
5. Should I inform the hotel that I'll pay using vouchers upfront?
6. Anything else I should know of based on your experiences.

Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Normally they will ask u to book on standard rates for coupon. However when i booked at different property on discounted or member rate i was able to redeem them on outsanding bills inculding food and taxes bal i paid by cc.

Normally the reservation desk is knowledgable enough about what rates are applicable where etc and their reply would be same for all hotels. Only the hotel reception desk can change/tweak their own policy.

Do you call the hotel reception or the reservation desk for booking?

No i book them online mostly on member rates of any offer rates and tell them i will use the coupon to settle bills they say once you checkin we need to inform receiption and show the coupon. For me i was able to settle it everytime. Only once they said i can use that tonsettle food bills instead of total bills. 99 percent i settle them on total billing as i inform in advance. They normally oblige. Few times i called and booked to see variation.price as it is dynamic. I always catch lower prices they too obliged for redemption of vouchers. I used amex standard chartered vouchers and was duely accepted i call reservation

Currently their is a 30% discount offer going on with breafast included excluding tax you can boom on them and use voucher for checkout and pay bal on dc or cc u r choice. Even if they dont redeem for room still u can pay it off for food bills which will include in total bill. Either way it is same.

Don't generalise this though. There is no guaranty that they will take Amex voucher for discounted room rates

If your food bill is above 10K then no issues Amex voucher will get adjusted on it. But if food bill is less than Amex voucher value, then you are at loss

Yes you can use multiple vouchers to settle bills. Apart from roomchgs you can use it to settle food and beverage bills too but you need to inform priorly or you can settle it at the time of checkout. Voucher can be used to pay off bills including tax on total bill.yes you should inform them.when you check in you have some vouchers and would settle it and bal any extra you can clear by your cc or dc or cash etc
