Any advantage of having a Diners Club card over VISA / Mastercard / Rupay?

My HDFC Millennia VISA CC is due for renewal. I got a mail from HDFC Bank giving an option to change the CC network (VISA/Mastercard/Diners Club/Rupay), if required.

I already have other CCs on all the above networks except Diners Club.

Just wanted to know whether opting to have my Millennia CC under Diners Club will give any advantage / feature not available with other networks.

Visa and Mastercard are accepted all over the world. RuPay is accepted all over India (not sure if accepted out of India). I have seen a few places accepting Amex but never come across anyone accepting Diners.
There is also another network called JCB. Union bank has some JCB cards with the JCB logo but the network is RuPay.

If you visit USA - Discover/Diners/JCB accept everywhere.

JCB card is from Japan, Japan's credit card network. You can use anywhere in Japan.

Asia, Middle East, Europe and Asia - only famous countries and places accepted. Some countries also almost 100% acceptance rate.

By the way Canada, Australia, New Zealand if you see anywhere Amex card accepted then your RuPay-JCB Card will also accept because JCB have partnership with Amex card in these countries and Amex will accept in Japan tieup with JCB Card network.

Sometimes you will get 25% Cashback offer on RuPay-JCB or RuPay-Discover/Diners card in UK, USA, Europe, Middle Ease and Asian countries.

U will incur convenience charges equal to international CC as of now. This is due to some bug on Rupay Side. This bug is not resolved from past 1 year.

Do you have SBI JCB Rupay DC? Did it work on international sites for you? I tried in ATMs in Singapore and USA - worked fine so far but didn't work on single online or ecomm sites. Not much deal breaking since I use zero forex CC or Amex online mostly but I just found it very strange...

Currently work on selected International websites, few people already used and recurring payment websites are not supported.

Another reason for not accepting it in all international e-commerce platforms is that RuPay itself will expand its international e-commerce payment services.

I agree with that for most part but bank declines transaction on every damn site. I have ICICI Rupay CC and it works everywhere Discover works...

For international transactions, Diners Black has always been my preferred card. Thanks to the fact the website did not accept Diners and I did not want to use AU Zenith which would have been a break even case, I decided to go with SBI Rupay-JCB Debit card because of zero forex markup.

Total amount: USD 153.75

Amount in INR (spot rate): 12,788 @ 83.17
Amount in INR (deducted): 12,795 @ 83.21
Amount in INR (Visa Rate): 12,804 @ 83.27

Overall found JCB conversion rates to be competitive.

How good is the global acceptability of a card on JCB network. I guess its a japanese network. Any idea if there would be issues with its acceptability outside Asia ?

North America - JCB accept almost everywhere in USA because tieup with Discover network.

Europe - Some countries accept almost everywhere including villages too.
