Any caveat on cancelling FYF Tata Neu Inf CC within 1 month

Hi

I got FYF Tata Neu Infinity Rupay CC.
I needed it for UPI-linked-CC payments
But none of the merchants in the area accept UPI over CC (I was kinda aware of this based on TF forums, but still tried it out to check what's the status of merchants in my area)

I already have Infinia, so don't plan to use the Tata Neu directly anywhere.
Its not even been a month since I activated the Tata Neu CC (and also got add-on card as well 🙂 )

I plan to cancel it (as they refused to make it LTF. Currently its FYF). Reason being, I might forget to cancel it just before 1 yr anniversary and unnecessarily end up paying 1499 fees


Question: Are there any caveats for cancelling it within 1 month without any transaction whatsoever?
Any penalty etc?
Its a shared limit (with Infinia). So I don't know if CIBIL will get affected by closure, but I don't care about a small hit on CIBIL at this moment.

It should be fine. But as you have FYF already, I would suggest doing some spends on it where you can, maybe on Tata Brands or bill pay and then put a reminder/alarm 10 months from now, ask them again and then close the card if it's not converted to LTF

In that case, put a remainder in Google Calendar for a specified date.

I will do that always.

It will remind you. Even if you change your phone it will work due to google accounts linking.

for the peace of mind u can cance.. i cancelled it in 3 months
