Applied for Marriott Bonvoy card, CIBIL hit but no application was generated

Hi All,

Yesterday I was applying for Marriott Bonvoy card straight redirected from Marriott website, it took all my details and while validating my details through netbanking it stopped saying could not be processed but I got a CIBIL hit and credit score from Equifax was also fetched .

Now when I go to that website again, it shows you already applied for a credit card just now . But I haven't received any mail regarding application number or application status.

What should I do?

If I had to guess it's probably rejected if you don't get any email about the application in a few days time.

Got a call from HDFC Tele Assist, they told me to try the authentication through debit card, it worked and I got an application reference number. Let's see what happens

Yes I had a similar issue wherein the last step asks you to authenticate using netbanking/Adhaar OTP/Debit card and the first two don't work. Only Debit card works.

Then did your application get approved? How many days did it take?

Yes it got approved today only. Hopefully, will get the card in 3 working days. Totally it took about 15 days. See the thread below for my exact timeline

How did you get through to this debit card authentication page? I went through the same process for MB application and it got stuck during the online banking login page. No application number or anything received. I was able to check credit status with the DOB/mobile number option to find an application. I asked my brother to check this with this RM since that guy is always very active.

When I again tried to apply, it showed 70% complete application and after putting the additionally details I again got the debit card / netbanking verification page. If you already have an application number, then you can wait for update from their side

Ah for me it just shows I have already applied, it got stuck in the same screen as yours. Alright, will follow up with them with the application ID I got by filling in the DOB/mobile number and see. thank you!

When I again tried to apply, it showed 70% complete application and after putting the additionally details I again got the debit card / netbanking verification page. If you already have an application number, then you can wait for update from their side

Update: Now when I check CC application status with mobile/DOB, it shows status as DESPATCHED. I'm hoping this is better than INPROCESS. It can't be for a super old card since I didn't apply anything from HDFC for the past 2 years.

You can search your email for the application ID, if it's for an old application, you can find it there I think. And normally for old applications it says approved or delivered, not despatched. So hoping for the best! 🤞

Will wait and see. I guess I had an HDFC card from 2016 which was reissued in 2021 as it expired. But for that I don't think there should be an application reference number. Lets hope for the best!

I was contacted by my old RM. He sent an internal link since they couldn't find any new applications. Through this link I was able to retrieve the 80% completed link. Selected the same address as before and completed this application with Debit card and the application went through. Funnily enough the new application number is close to the one from Sunday. Got 2 Cibil hits, hope at least one card gets approved.

You can always mail HDFC later to remove the extra CIBIL hits, I've done it in past. Hopefully you get the card!
