Apply core card

I have neu infinity with 223000 limit, can i apply for core card because currently hdfc put on hold many applications and offer first limit increase.
Please suggest......

As in one should not open FD online even if there is an option on bank's website/app ?

Like in ICICI it was very easy to open FD and order a secured card based on that FD.

How to know those "Some" ?

Or

We should check with nearest branch before even thinking of applying online for FD based cards with any bank we wish to.
