Hi Lavanya,

I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share my recent experience with HDFC's credit card application process, which has been quite frustrating and has negatively impacted my trust in your services.

Here’s what happened:
I noticed the Tata Neu LTF Card listed in the Tata Neu app and tried applying for it. Every time I clicked "proceed," the application would load and then show an error saying, check your internet connection and try again later, even though I have a good internet connection. After a few failed attempts, I decided to leave it.

The next day, I got a message from HDFC inviting me to apply for the credit card and offering a voucher. I clicked the link, started filling out the application, and noticed I was eligible for three cards. I chose the Tata Neu Plus LTF Card and began the process.
While filling the application, I had to pause due to some urgent work. I saved the application to continue later. However, when I resumed, another hard inquiry was triggered on my CIBIL. I completed the application this time, but the end result was disappointing as my application was rejected.

When I contacted customer care, I was told the rejection was because I already hold a Millennia Credit Card. This explanation left me confused and upset because:
1. Why was I shown as eligible for three cards if having the Millennia Card meant I wasn’t actually eligible?
2. Why did the system allow me to proceed multiple times, triggering three CIBIL inquiries for the same application?

This process has caused me two major problems:
CIBIL Impact: My score dropped significantly from 760+ to 730+ due to the three unnecessary hard inquiries. While I didn’t mind initially because I wanted the Tata Neu Card, this rejection has made the situation worse.
Wasted Time: I spent a lot of time and effort on the application, only to face rejection for something that could have been flagged upfront. If this issue isn’t resolved, I will have no choice but to reconsider my decision and shift back to my previous banker.

I’ve been very disappointed with how this was handled, especially as a long-time HDFC customer. If it was clear from the start that having a Millennia Card disqualified me from getting another card, the system should not have shown me as eligible or processed my application multiple times.

To resolve this, I kindly request one of the following:
1. Remove the unnecessary CIBIL inquiries, as they were caused by system issues and misleading information.
2. Provide me with the Tata Neu Plus LTF Card as originally shown, since I completed the application process and was initially marked eligible.
I hope you understand my concerns and the importance of resolving this matter. I have been a loyal HDFC customer, and I trust you will take appropriate action to address this issue.
Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Spider Man

The above one is the mail I had sent for HDFC grievance for removal of CIBIL enquires and below is their recent response after a month of battle, mentioning that they will suppress the hard enquires done.

I hope this will help some one faced the same issue. I heard many people failed to remove the CIBIL enquires.

Additionally, I got my Neu Card Plus too (LTF) but they mentioned they cant merge the limit. I have 1.8L in Millennia, I wish they had merged and provided me infinity LTF.

i have also faced similar issue when HDFC made 3 enquiries in my CIBIL just for 1 credit card , then i mailed them but they said it was done by you not us. Then i approached RBI ombudsman and filed complaint, then i received mail from HDFC to suppress the duplicate enquiry
