Surprisingly, I got approved for two HDFC credit cards in June. I applied for a Tata Neu Plus card a few days ago and got approved. Then, two days ago, I saw that I was eligible for a lifetime free Swiggy credit card through my Swiggy app. I applied for it, and today my application was approved, and my card was issued. Now, I have three HDFC bank credit cards, all of which are lifetime free.
However, there's a problem. My total credit limit is just 23,000 rupees. I got my first HDFC Millennia credit card about two years ago with a 23,000 rupee limit, which has not increased since then. I tried everything: converting purchases to EMI, using the card to its full limit for six months, not using it at all, and various other methods, but the limit hasn't increased. It's strange because other banks are offering me credit limits in lakhs, but HDFC is not increasing my limit even though they keep approving new cards.
I'm confused about how to effectively use these cards with such a low limit. HDFC Bank's policy seems quite odd.
