Your observation about Lit is true, but again, we have to subscribe to some features by paying 1000 - 4000 annually, and also there are other terms and conditions, such as to get milestone benefits, monthly spend should be above 10,000/-, etc., etc.
Also, conversion to Rupay is extremely difficult and has many problems.

I hold LIT and always get 2% back for scan payments, but I have tried scanning at apparel stores, and it never shows it as apparel.

No, I wasn't aware that UPI also has MCC.
I tried using scan at 2-3 different stores for apparel from November through feb and never got cb hence stuck to POS and always got it.
