Axis Atlas Devaluation: 25% Lower Returns - New Transfer Ratio 2:3 (Rumors)

Axis Bank is likely to devalue the Axis Atlas Credit Card soon.
The transfer ratio is expected to change from 1:2 to 2:3, which translates to ~25% lower returns for users.

As a cardholder, this is obviously disappointing. But if we look at it from the bank’s side, this move was long overdue to keep Atlas viable at its current positioning. Unsustainable reward structures always end the same way.

This is also a strong signal of what’s coming next. Indian credit card rewards are entering a tightening phase, and by 2026, earning high returns will become significantly harder, especially on premium cards.

Stable products > flashy launches followed by silent devaluations.

For flights it gives 16% and they are not that inflated as well based on past experience. For Hotels inflation is there but you get 33%, even with the inflation you can expect 20-25% returns and also you can book hotels other than accor. Plus quaterly milestones of 4L is somewhat easier if you have an upcoming trip. Acceptability might be issue but have not faced it in my city atleast.
Good points. Thanks. I am not yet eligible for DCBM I guess. But will keep this in mind. As of now, working with Regalia Gold.

So the much-awaited event is finally getting here. Actually, 2:3 transfer ratio for Atlas makes sense for Axis to streamline their product portfolio in terms of travel benefit returns.
  • Horizon - 2%
  • Atlas - 3%
  • Olympus - 4%
Also, expect the 3L milestone for Atlas to go.

There is a small chance that they might open up Olympus applications (invite only, of course) for a short while to placate high-spending Atlas customers.

Regalia gold is good too, if you consider redeeming for accor hotels since the reward rate increases. Plus i feel its better for international trips as DCBM acceptance outside India is an issue. Although for some countries like Japan, US it works fine

HDFC smartbuy price matches of that available on cleartrip, mmt, yatra or goibibo. While buying you are aware from which aggregator you are buying. You may check price of same on their site / app.

Also smartbuy shows multiple price as it sources from aggregator. So you may choose to buy whichever is cheaper.

For hotels there is almost always a inflated price. Thats across OTAs. For flights its not that much
