I have a college fee payment to be made soon, which card is suggested for better reward points? Atlas I have reached the 7.5L milestone !! So which would be better Atlas or Infinia? Kindly suggest. Thanks

If you've already hit the milestone for Atlas then you should go with Infinia only and as per the latest terms and conditions released by HDFC Bank, you should pay the college fees directly through the college website to get the reward points, Reward points will not accrue if spends done through third party website/app.

Someone please correct me if my understanding is not correct.

That's right.

If you are not aiming for the 15L milestone on Atlas, then this is how I will think. Let's take an eg: of 10000 Rs as the fee payment and Accor being the best mile partner who gives 1.8 Rs for 1 Accor point. And I prefer Accor for this reason.

1) Infinia gives - (10000/150) * 5 = 330 RP = 330 Rs for flights/hotels/apple/tanishq etc and for Accor without the bonus program its 2:1
So 330/2 = 115 Accor points = 115*1.8 = 207 Rs
2) Atlas gives - (10000/100) * 2 = 200 RP = 200 Rs for flights/hotels and for Accor its 1:2. So, 200*2 = 400 Accor points = 400*1.8 = 720 Rs

For me, for my travel use case with Accor Atlas is the winner. If its for direct flight and hotel booking without any transfer miles program then Infinia is the winner.

Now how do u pay this -
-If the Institute has a POS machine, then go and swipe, that's the easiest way.
-If they have a payment portal where you can enter your CC and do the payment, that is also fine.
In my case, I wanted to use DCB(before getting Infinia) and the portal was accepting only visa and master, hence I called up the school and asked whether they have a POS (luckily they had). And I directly paid at school and continuing to do so with Infinia now.
