AXIS ATLAS - THE OG ultimate miles card

Atlas has always been a no-nonsense, straightforward card that almost anyone can get on call if they are an existing credit card holder.

Like most of us who were new to the credit card ecosystem and unaware of miles or flight redemptions, I took a risk and applied for the Atlas—paying a hefty ₹5,000 + GST joining fee.

---

MY JOURNEY WITH THE CARD

I have completed the ₹7.5 lakh milestone on the card, and 99% of the spending was manufactured spending.

Total miles earned: ~29,000, which includes:

2,500 joining bonus

3 lakh milestone bonus

7.5 lakh milestone bonus

I converted all 29,000 miles to the Accor program:
29,000 miles × 2 = 58,000 Accor points × ₹1.8/1.9 ≈ ₹1,16,000 in value

And this is despite most of my spending being in the 2× category, with not a lot in the 5× category.
that is 15 % return on the spends

---

How I Achieved the Spending

Bought vouchers—lots of them.

2× categories: Amazon, Magnify, Maximize

5× categories: InterMiles

Note: Even though most of my spending was manufactured, I kept things looking natural by swiping the card physically at small stores—food outlets, metro top-ups, grocery stores, even online food orders.
These random small transactions help keep Axis Bank’s algorithm from scrutinizing the pattern too heavily.

Best Part — The Redemption

I redeemed my points for stays at Raffles Jaipur and Fairmont Jaipur.
When I was 16, I saw these hotels and thought “Someday…”.
With Atlas, staying there became surprisingly affordable.

I’ve also planned Vietnam and Thailand this New Year for more memorable Accor stays.

WHAT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO USE THE POINTS?

You can sell them at a decent rate—though not as high as the ~1.8 paise per point you get via Accor redemptions.

Bhai, I have a few questions. I don’t have any Axis cards as of now, and I’m planning to apply for one. What income should I mention while applying to get the card approved over a call? Also, what should be the minimum credit limit on the first Axis card to be eligible for Atlas...
