Axis Bank to charge 25paise per sms from 15th December 2024

I just got a intimation from axis that mandatory sms as per rbi regulation ( I guess intimation for change in balance/settings change) will be charged 25p/sms with maximum charges being RS15 /qtr.

Anyone else got this intimation? Is this just for account holders or for cc holders as well?

My view on this is very clear.

Initially before 1 2 years , I have the same problem with axis and airtel banks.
so I mailed them, they replied it as they cant stop that sms service, they cant wavier those old. And they also replied it is chargable.
I argued them in mails that you cant charge mandatory sms and I dont want VAS sms .
So Kindly off the VAS .
Axis stopped VAS but still charging.
Airtel didnt stopped and but charging.


So I made a complaint to RBI CEPD CGM regarding AXIS and airtel bank charging sms charges even I am not intrested .
By submitting neccesary directives given by RBI.
So they cleverly changed so many things before her. But I have mail communications. To show her.So suddenly I got a mail from her that , RE accepted your request and closed the complaint.

Then they off my sms alerts in both axis and airtel and they reverted all the charges from the date of first complaint will be reveresed soon and they did it.
Later I have not been charged.
With 1000/- penalty on each(but they havent credited it to me - And I havent asked also)

So then now after 2 years.
Now recently agaian on OCTOBER 24 Airtel bank sended the similar msg as YOUR OPT OUT PERIOD FOR CHARGES HAS BEEN OVER "
Now again today axis again sended same msg.
If we leave these banks withoit questioning them, Soom other banks will start .

Guys My wish is one thing.
We have clear RBI directive to not to charge On mandatory sms and VAS ON- OFF option must be customers wish.
If every one on their own made a complain to RBI ombudsman this wont be solved.

its high time to raise our voice on these banks worst tactics, even we maintain large amounts of MABs.

SO Every open Twitter ,click the sms charge intimation photo, post it to RBI, FM, AXIS BANK, to all necessary organisations. As
ForeceFul charges by Axis bank against Regulatory guidelines and advisory on charging Mandatory sms.

Now their PR team ,Sure they will respond as wrong msg and they change it as NON mandatory. This is how they escape now.

Even after several Complaints on twitter SBI some years back refunded all sms.charges.
Why cant we do it now????

I think this is for asking holders only. I have 3 cc from axis Bank and I have not received any such message
