Axis Magnus Master List of Exclusions | Guide | Update Date: 9th June, 2023 - 5:30 AM IST

Genuine question, don't take it otherwise. Are you able to use all the vouchers you're buying using Magnus? I mean are you buying them to just hit the milestone?
I'll pitch in.

So I have bought around 80K vouchers from Gyftr this last 15 days and was planning to buy 20K more. In my case, all the spends are genuine. I have used them to book them 2 flights, 1 hotel stay, multiple swiggy and zomato vouchers.

So no these are not to just hit the milestone. All are genuine spends I would have done otherwise as well.

Nice, i see i am not able to go to OTP page, when my cart exceeds 1L including this month purchased items.

1L is good enough, as that's what is required for milestones. If they make it 50K, then that will be real devaluation.
1 Lakh is not good enough for me 😢

I have genuine spends that exceed 1 Lakh most of the months which could be easily fulfilled by Gyftr. My regret is taking the Magnus card an year late.

Just curious, which vouchers are you using to book flight tickets? I don’t see anything else other than yatra.

I just had a call with Axis support team, and to my surprise, they are saying the following statement from important announcements is also applicable for magnus card and the backend team is in the process of updating the terms and conditions.

"Axis Bank Select Credit Card will not be eligible for earning EDGE REWARDS on Insurance, rent, fuel, educational services, utilities and government spends. The transactions for each category are identified through Merchant Category Codes* (MCC), defined by the Network, e.g. Visa, MasterCard and RuPay. Axis Bank does not define the merchant category. Category-wise MCC codes are: Insurance - 6300, 6381, 5960, 6012, 6051; Rent – 6513; Fuel - 5541, 5542, 5983; Educational services – 8299, 8211, 8241, 8244, 8249; Utilities - 4814, 4816, 4899, 4900; Government services - 9222, 9311, 9399, 9402. The revision is effective from 05-03-2023."

Seriously, I don't think so. I have made payments for Insurance and Fuel transactions for which I have received the ER. and the Axis support team is not well knowledgeable to that extent, they will just read out the terms and conditions. They are just there to say " Axis Bank Dil se Open".

But in future they may do so because, the speed at which they are issuing the Magnus cards they will definitely de value in terms of Milestone Benefits, ER Capping like HDFC Infinia and DCB.

I had to call them multiple times yesterday and two of them said this while the other one said they would be counted.

I hope they are wrong and I don’t want to believe them. Fingers crossed till the ERs get credited.
Magnus as of now they won’t degrade or restrict mcc
Axis use magnus for a good competitive advantage against peers

I do accept that Magnus won't degrade anytime soon and they are taking advantage against peers. But the survival chances with these kind of benefits is very tough. Axis has really upped the credit card game with Magnus, Vistara, FK and some other cards. Best for customers in the industry right now.

For this year they tightened somewhat to save their pockets by means of rental exclusion and GyFTR restrictions for a 90day period
Lets hope no more chaos happens for Edge Rewards on magnus in 2023🙂

What do you mean by GyFTR restrictions for 90 days? Its actually capped monthly right?
Not monthly
It’s tier based capping based on your gyftr account age
For first 30 days there is a cap of 15k voucher i guess
For first 90 days there is cap of 75k
Post that there is a cap of 1 lakh per month

This capping is introduced recently

But I didn't find any capping restrictions like this on the above link. Hope someone clarifies on the same.
