Insurance should probably still work.

True. Vistara infinite is my go to card for advance tax payments. Hope it remains.

Vistara infinite excluded MCCs below.

The following MCCs have been excluded from CV Points eligibility: 6012, 6051, 6011, 6540, 6513

As per Axis 6012 and 6051 are both Insurance! Image below.

These are not for Vistara Infinite, but for Select, Flipkart and other cards where reward type is ER. For vistara infinite, reward type is Club Vistara points

Axis cannot consider 6012 as insurance for ER card and something else for CV cards.

Yes, but the problem is when you google 6012, 6050. They are not insurance MCC codes at all!
In Axis page it's in Insurance category which is very weird.

Thats Axis being Axis. MCC codes are driven by Visa / MC and not the bank. Ignore that crap.
