What is the credit limit?Arrived in 10 days from applying.
Do you have an axis bank savings/current/salary account?how do I get an add on card on Reserve
Just a small modification for the total Edge miles, you will only get 10,000 milestone miles on a spend of 15L. Also, if the hotel spends are so high (8L per month) you could consider shifting 15L of hotel spends to Atlas resulting in 75,000 edge miles normal + 10,000 milestone = 85,000 edge miles = 1,70,000 total miles (1:2 ratio).Till 15L Atlas is better if you have that spend.
For 15L of spend you’ll get 30,000 edge miles ( 2 edge Miles / 100 Rs)
Milestone: 2,500 , 5,000 , 10,000 for 3, 7.5 & 15L spends
Total Edge Miles: 47,500
Total Miles at 1:2 ratio: 95,000
For Reserve, it’s 7,500 edge pts / 1L so total edge RP = 1,12,500
Total Miles at 5:4 ratio: 90,000
Not considering the joining / renewal benefits of both
very true, hence there is a variety of different cards, for different purpose. Axis currently is quite aggressive, hence it is fulfilling one purpose for me at the moment, better than others.Never put all your eggs in the same basket. You're good with these cards, you're better off with another card elsewhere. While some people will milk every point they can, at this level of spending it might not be as important or relevant. It does matter, but not that much. You're better diversifying a little bit, not everything revolves around points and cashback. More below.
First, if there's issues with the bank you'll be unable to pay if all your cards are from the same bank whether they're technical, a security freeze or some other type of restriction.
Second, your payment might fail for A or B, or C or D or E or F. I've had issues with Axis cards on certain credit card terminals and in some countries you might have issues with Bank A but not Bank B.
Third, some cards are better suited for different purposes. Not everything is about points, a very important thing when traveling is travel insurance, car rental insurance, purchase insurance/extended warranty, fraud protection, etc.
While things don't usually go wrong, you also want a bank (or their service provider) who will step up to help when needed whether thats an accident, stolen wallet/passport, fraudulent transactions, etc. You need to judge on your own when to use which card.
I've had the bank mail cards overnight to me overseas and disburse cash when I've had emergencies. I do not think Axis will do this, but I have no experience on the matter.
Also for shady websites or places, I use a card that I know is good in case of fraudulent transactions/chargeback. Axis might not be ideal in this field as well.
Fourth, fifth, sixth, etc... list could go on.
Do not have a single bank account and credit card, and also have backup accounts/cards from other banks not from the same one.
Completely agree. Have had my Magnus rejected all over Nepal, whereas Amex, StanC and HDFC cards all were accepted. Would have been in a soup if I only had Axis.Never put all your eggs in the same basket. You're good with these cards, you're better off with another card elsewhere. So did I, I never got a clear answer as to why. They say that it says on the card that it will not work in Nepal, I said that that is not the language and they have not written that is it not valid in Nepal. I never got a call back with an explanation. I have given up trying.I blasted the Axis guys, when my card did not work in Nepal, but thankfully, I had the amex to fall back on. Infinia, one has to inform prior to travel etc, for foreign spends, nothing comes close to amex i feel
How is it that other cards work like infinia but not reserve? Same platform Visa infinite!! But i guess thats where axis drops the ball once again. It can charge 50k for the reserve, but will not be able to deliver. So did I, I never got a clear answer as to why.
