• HSBC Cashback: 0%
• AMEX Gold Charge: 1 MR/50 + Milestone benefits
• AMEX SmartEarn/ MRCC: Milestone benefits only
• AU Zenith: Milestone benefits only
• AU Zenith+: 1% + Milestone benefits
• ICICI APay: 1%
• SC Smart: 2%
• SC Ultimate: 2% (Govt. transaction)

Note: Mostly other cards from same bank works with varied reward rate and similar rule of exclusion.

Tip: IDFC, IndusInd, BOB provides better rewards using payzapp like prepaid card load (MCC: wallet) which you can use to pay NPS compared to direct payment where you'll get from 0.25% to 0.8% only on these cards.

For NPS payments MCC: 9399 (Govt. Services)

Do check both payment gateways Razorpay and Billdesk (above values are according to Billdesk gateway).

Also, do share missing cards rewards that you tried, will update accordingly.

PG Charges (with GST) on NPS website/app:

• VISA, Mastercard & AMEX = 0.885% (0.75% + GST)

Note: Above are for TIER 1. TIER 2 disabled credit card payments (based on latest available options).

If in doubt, always try test transaction and confirm with support. Things may chage any time, proceed with caution.

but using MRCC in NPS won't give us points right? it doesn't give points on utilities na.
So other than to fulfill spend based milestone, what is MRCC useful for?

Attaching screenshot, last two transaction are NPS payment for 5k (with tax it was 5044), got 101 points each time. Also post that I got my referral joining bonus of 2k points.

Earlier it was BD NPS TRUST(got normal points) but now it has changed to BD GOVERNMEN.
Will update if I get points or not as well as milestone points.

i just tried making a payment. tried via razorpay but it straightaway error message came when entering card no saying that card is not supported to make this payment. Should we use billdesk?

For Amex cards you have to use billdesk

They didn't change anything.

MRCC gives points on Govt. Payments and not on Utilities. Based on MCC, you'll get points.

On MRCC, I got points till last month but this month I didn't get it. NPS is govt. payment but I didn't got points.
Did you tried this month & got it?

i think the base points wont come now since the MCC code is changed for NPS

Got the same BD Government charge message today for payment made via Amex travel platinum card. Let’s see if it fetches points or not.

AMEX travel platinum did not give reward points on NPS transaction. Looks like a recent change giving I have earlier received the same.

Dear friends, I just did a transaction of 50K NPS payment (Tier1) using HDFC Tata Infinity Rupay credit card through BHIM app. No charges collected.

I think it will not fetch any reward points being the Government category payment. But in case you get it let us know.
