Best Credit card for medical spends category

I am looking for a credit card which is personalised for spends on medical category like hospital bills, doctor/clinic payments, pharmacies payments for medicine purchases etc.

As per my research, I couldn't find any credit card in the market right now. Axis Bank has their Aura credit card but that doesn't provide any additional/accelerated reward points/benefits for the payments which I mentioned above. Basically that's just a normal card they are selling with some online doctor consultation services which is useless.

I think since medical spends is a mcc in itself, banks should come up with a dedicated cobranded or personalised credit card for the same like we already have it for groceries, travel, dining etc.nowadays.

Please let me know if there is any cc available in the market right now which I might be not aware of or can be added to this thread when such card is launched.

I think this thread got a little deviated to only discussing online medicine purchases. My intention was mainly to discuss offline medical spends like payment at hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres etc.

For online medical purchases there are N no of apps/options available to generate even >30% returns regularly. Even I have been consistently making these discounts from the last 8-9 years to be precise ( yes, I was ordering since 1mg used to be healthkart before).
I will tell you some of the ways I have been using, here is a complete guide (relevant for delhi ncr region):

1. Practo: Practo sells their "Practo infinity plus plan (OPD variant)" (as of date its discontinued). I have a one-year plan activated which recently expired. Practo pharmacy has direct tie-up with apollo pharmacy. And they give flat 30% discount on medicine in this plan. (yes 30% plan that too with the genuineness of apollo pharmacy). Top it up with card discounts to make it even 35-40% or via apay. The only problem is this practo infinity opd plan keeps launching and revoked from time to time. I am too waiting to renew the plan but no option as of now.

2. Netmeds: Currently, I am using this option. Many days, they run 20% flat discount offers. If you have netmeds plus membership, you get 2% extra. If you don't have netmeds plus membership, just add all medicines to your cart, and call cc and ask them to place the order for you,m they will add the 2% additional cb for you. Now, top it up with card discounts like 5% sbi cc. So overall a 27% discount straightaway easily here.
I actually make the transaction via twidpay app ( and use sbi cb cc there) to generate some returns via twidpay as well.
So this option currently also gives a decent 27-30% discount.

3.1mg: As people pointed out, this used to be high rewarding a few years back. Bac then, they had 1mg wallet separately and easily ran 25% flat discount promotion campaign regularly. But now they discontinued both wallets and payday campaigns. Even 1mg care plan is devalued. So compared to netmeds it is giving less discounts currently. I use it occasionally sometimes ( like few medicines not available elsewhere etc) or some extra offers running on tata neu. But still a good option. Particularly, this app is useful to research about the use/composition of all medicines. Even I have seen doctors/pharmacians relying on 1mg for same. Nowadays, they even mention the doctor's name who wrote the description for that product, so here information is reliable.

4. Pharmeasy/FK health/ Amazon pharmacy etc: All these do offer discounts sometimes, but not regularly.

I haven't tried truemeds as of now although they claim to offer more than 25% discount. Also, please do check affiliate websites as sometimes they run flat cashback offers for ordering via them too.

I got 25% discount on Flipkart health, pharmeasy and Truemeds for first order. So ordered once in each app and shifted back to netmeds/medplus.

Twipay on netmeds👌

Yep, good idea. But some bombards with promotional messages and calls.
Twipay on netmeds👌
Exact 20% is not applicable, in netmeds.

Also, cart value ₹1499 is required to avail the dis in Net Meds.

cg govt has their own chain where it gives 55% on medicines. Its not for generic per se. They keep medicines from all big brands. You can even request them to source a medicine, if it is under approved list, they'll get it.

But funnily the same shops have "commercial " product also. There is no discount on those product.

So if you buy cough syrup of cadilla/abott/ Cipla/mankind etc you will get discount, but not on dabur honeydrop.🤣
Actually it was previous congress govt scheme. 🤣. There is also a chain of central govt where discount varies from 40-75%. Good thing is It's open for everyone & has outlet in posh places as well. Also they accept cash, upi, dc, cc everything.

Of course there must be a scam going on. The agreement is 45% is paid by customers and a fixed % is given by govt. So local pharmacy must be buying some stocks from them. Its unlikely that their distributor will give them this type of margin.
@sidp Are you talking about Jan Aushadi Kendra or something else?

Really there's 55% off on medicines and they do have branded medicines and accepts every mode of payment even card.

Kindly explain it little more.

Also, links of approved list so that one can request to source that medicine.

2% CB in wallet? This only get applied when placing the order through CC.

Later on payment can be made online or POD?

Twidpay yep some banner. How does it benefit? By paying through it, using UPI or Card?
So this option currently also gives a decent 27-30% discount.
Great 😃

Yep, earlier one test was free and some good dis and coins as cashback.
Now, devalued after becoming popular.

Yep, such infos are available in the same way on different platforms as well.

FK Health+ give flat 15% off on MRP, and rarely run card offers. Amz Pharmacy has least varietes. Flat 14% and some other dis on Pharmeasy.

Different schemes. Jan aushadi is central govt scheme. The one I am talking about it state govt scheme. Dhanwantari medical scheme or something.

& yes 55% off on all medicines. Only a small percent is from small brands. Most are from big brands: sanofi, cadila, abott, Cipla, Glenmark, mankind etc.

40_45 on medical devices like bp, sugar, thermometer, exercise equipment etc. But they consider some items as commercial products where they don't give any discount like Vicks, pads, napkin, petroleum jelly, deo, facewash , condom, dabur product (honey toss/pudinhara/sugar ayurvedic medicines) etc

They accept cash, upi, dc/cc everything.

What type of one card offer, attach some screenshots. Also, the same one card dis is applicable on physical store or online or both?
Like we get 20% value back on D mart and other stores by Around you option.

We get it for wellness and healthcare stores. Under which MedPlus, pharmEasy, Apollo pharmacy, wellness forever and other medical chains come.

I had ordered one syrup which costs 2600₹ in other medicals.
But MedPlus gave 20% discount so costed at 2080₹.
And one card gave 300₹ rewards.

We need to select store and activate offer and then need to swipe card physically and not online.

This scheme is particularly available in some states offered by some particular state or available in all states.

Would like to further is this available in Delhi? Kindly provide me with some links to know almost everything about this scheme and the chain of stores.

Thank you bro 😁

On twidpay you again have options to pay via cc/UPI etc, twiday gives extra cashback and supercoins etc. but nowadays twidpay offers too are devalued
Yep, such infos are available in the same way on different platforms as well
1mg was first to bring it, others followed later, but 1mg info is authenticated and stamped by doctor panels , others can't be trusted blindly

Yes netmeds wallet, which later can be redeemed fully on next order. Don't know abt COD , as I never used it.
I usually have around 10k medicine purchases every month on avg, so always rely on platform giving consistently fixed discounts amd MOV is never a concern for higher discounts.
