Hey everyone!
I’m currently investing ₹10,000 every month in Lalitha Jewellery's savings scheme. They offer two online payment gateways:
  • Razorpay (Wallets: MobiKwik, Airtel Payments Bank, Ola Money, JioMoney, Freecharge)
  • Billdesk (Wallets: MobiKwik, PhonePe)
  • MCC varies between 5944 (Jewelry) or 5094 (Precious Stones/Metals).
I’m trying to maximize cashback or rewards through the right credit/debit card or wallet route. Here’s what I currently have:

💳 My Cards:
  1. SBI Cashback Credit Card
  2. Airtel Axis Credit Card
  3. HDFC IOCL Credit Card
  4. ICICI Coral Credit Card
  5. ICICI HPCL Credit Card
  6. Kiwi Yes Bank RuPay Credit Card
  7. Kotak 811 Credit Card

  8. HDFC Millennia Debit Card
  9. Kotak Super Debit Card
  10. HSBC Salary Debit Card
Which is the best card or wallet combo to use for ₹10K/month spend to get maximum cashback?

💡Would love to hear from anyone already doing this with Lalitha or similar schemes. Any hacks, tricks, or confirmed cashback experiences? 🙏

Check for exclusion list of each card that you have.... jewelry category is excluded by most of the cards these days, but you may be lucky with the specific MCC code 5094.

Before I use prepaid card tide/getpay card. Now, they stop accepting prepaid cards. This month, have done through Tata neu card and it gives 1.5% neu coins

  • As you already have kotak 811 super debit card, you can use it which offers 5% cashback ( max 500 per month ) which suits for your case (10k per month )
  • But there is also other trick - use razorpay gateway and choose ola money as payment option. Then you can use swiggy hdfc credit card at ola payment gateway. You should be able to get merchant name as 'www olacabs com' whose MCC Code is 4121 which is eligible for 5% cashback

    Hope this helps

I buy from SKTM Jewellery's gold scheme. ~80k per month. MCC 5944
- Indusind Pinnacle - 2.5% Return as vouchers. 1.875% Return as Cash credit.
- IDFC Select - 1.2 to 1.67%, due to the first 20k giving only 0.66%
- Tata Neu Infinity - 1.5%
- IDFC Mayura, I only got this card this month, and I am expecting to earn ~1.5% in vouchers and ~3% in travel rewards.

Previously used SBI SimplyClick 1-1.25%, Amazon ICICI 1%.
High cashback cards usually have Jewellery excluded.

Yes, you can reach out to Customer Care for MCC code of the transaction.
For SBI phonepe Select, cashback limit is 2k/month => transaction limit will be 40k/month

Great thank you. Did you swipe the card, make online OTP payment or any wallet? Guide on the usage part and the application part as well. Will it go through SBI people, same as SBI CB?

Also do you have rupay or visa variant. I am new to the cc game but trying to save what i can. I wanted to check what mcc your jeweller used as i want to be sure before applying. Mine is MCC 5094.

5094 MCC is eligible. But make sure you make it as online OTP payment because offline/scan&pay transactions will fetch only 1% reward rate.
Mine is rupay variant and I have tried at places with MCC Codes 5094 & 5944

That clears all my doubts. Please guide me with the select black application and how my chances can be increased to get it.

I generally dont use SBI and dont have any cards, from last 3 weeks, i have maintained 3.5L in sb. But no transactions on sbi in last 6-8 months, just self transfers and a 2k pm RD is there
