HDFC TataNeu UPI Rewards Calculation New
  • Earlier its 35rs when they provide whole 1.5% in hdfc statemetn, later when they moved to tataneu I stopped using due to app problems, but occasional usage with 1% credit, as follows..

    as mentioned neucard is one of the rarest that do 'roundup' ..

    - still one of the worst reward system by splitting 0.5% + 1% and this 1% is transaction date + 1 month instead of cumulative at month end like 0.5%.. poor design IMO...

    anyway,

    tataneu app (1%) // HDFC statement as usual 0.5%

    150 -- 2 NC
    120 -- 1 NC
    730 -- 7 NC
    79 -- 1 NC
    197 -- 2 NC

    Using Neu App cashback credit in statement:
    40-> 0,
    50 -> 0,
    60->0,
    70-> 0,
    80->0,
    90->0,
    99->0,
    100->1,
    120,->1,
    130->1,
    150->1,
    151->1,
    180->1,
    230->1,
    299->1,
    300->2,
    400->2

    Not used other apps, but it must be using the same logic

    Due to rounding, the actual cashback is way less sometimes and way up sometimes.
    Example: Rs 99 gives 0% cashback, but Rs 100 gives 1% cashback.

    Attaching sample I derived from my statement:

    Excellent buddy. Thanks. From the list u shared I can infer following major points.

    1. Statement cashback (0.5%) starts from 100 and then upward rounding off considering 1st decimal point. 100+ = 1, 300+ = 2. 500+ = 3.

    2. Direct credit at neu app (1.0%) starts from 67 (?), but counted as upward rounding off with first decimal point into consideration. 67+ = 1, 150+ = 2, 250+ = 3, 350+ = 4, 450+ = 5.

    So net, net, (starting point)
    67(?) = 1
    100
    = 2
    150
    = 3
    250
    = 4
    300
    = 5
    350
    = 6
    450
    = 7
    500
    = 8
    550 = 9
    650 = 10
    700 = 11
    750 = 12
    850 = 13
    900 = 14
    950 = 15
    1050 = 16
    1100 = 17
    1150 = 18
    1250 = 19
    1300 = 20

    A little bit further refinement is needed particularly at the lower end.

    For non tneu app it is straightforward.
    100 = 1
    300 = 2
    500 = 3
    700 = 4
    and so on....

    Specific details for HDFC TataNeu UPI Rewards rate New
  • no, this is for other cards not tataneu.. its roundup.. check once again..
    He was referring that to statement credit part (0.5%) only. I have summarised it together based on the given input by you guys here: https://www.technofino.in/community/threads/suggest-rupay-credit-card.39715/post-1021586

    In brief,
    About 25% time returns are below 1.5%, like between 0-66(?), 134-149, 201-249, 401-449, 601-649, 801-849, and so on. (Start with values divisible by 200 till immediate next value divisible by 50)
    Rest of the time (theoretically ~75% occasions) returns are above 1.5%, like between 67-133, 150-200, 250-400, 450-600, 650-800, and so on.

    At lower end [excl. initial upto 66(?)] it is higher upto 2.0%, but at higher values they are very close to 1.5%. For example, 150 = 3 (2.0%), but 900 = 14 (1.56%). But, if the person do six separate txn of 150*6= 900 then he would get 18 (3*6= 18).

    We only need some verification. And a bit more clarity at the starting point. It could be 51/67/75. (Ideally it should be 50 or 67, but @raghumahajan already stated at 50 he got 0), and you stated at 79 u got 1.
