Best value back options for IRCTC train tickets booking

I am going to book around 9-10k for 3 AC train total 4 tickets tickets with in next 10 days what will be best value back option kindly suggest ?

I've been using Amazon pay ICICI card on IRCTC website directly to book train tickets. I know there is not much benefit at all. But that's been simple for me.

Just exploring if there is any additional benefit on using HDFC Tata Neu infinity card on Smartbuy-IRCTC?

Or do we go with HDFC IRCTC card itself on smartbuy?

I have very little idea about SmartBuy others will explain better and more accurately I think

However if you have Amazon Pay ICICI instead of IRCTC you can use Amazon which gives 2% cashback right instead of 1% in IRCTC?

The PG charge of IRCTC and the Amazon Agent charge will be similar and cancel each other 1 - 3rs difference here and there I think

I haven't book train tickets through any other site than IRCTC. Hence never thought about it. Will try next time.

A. HDFC Smartbuy has many options

• Good - No portal charges so far
• Bad - Since the move to new portal few months back, portal has become little unreliable with many bugs.

1. HDFC IRCTC Card
Heads Up - I haven’t seen any hands-on review for this and someone mentioned that HDFC is not approving this card yet. So no idea on points credit duration and any limitations.

• Via Smartbuy = 5% Card + 5% - 1.18% PG charges = 8.82%
• Direct = 5% - 1.18% CC Charges + 1% Transaction charges waiver = 4.82% (Useful for tatkal booking or when smartbuy limit exhausted)

I recently got my Swiggy HDFC Card before that had only Tata Neu Plus with very low limit which I used only for UPI so have not tried Smartbuy till now.

Maybe I should check with Swiggy and Smartbuy

Why not get AGV at 5% and book tickets through Amazon? there will be no payment gateway charges
PS: Amazon does charges some amount as agent fees

The amount Amazon charges is similar to Payment Gateway fees of IRCTC.

Next time will try with AGV

Tata neu direct booking - 1.5+1.5 - 3%

Paying in IRCTC using AGV - 5% - 2.124% = 2.876%

I said to book through Amazon, not IRCTC....Amazon charges a fixed agent fee based on the booked tier (not a dynamic transaction %)

That's even worse. 30-40 rs is 3-4% charges even on a 1000 rs ticket.
