Axis Magnus Beware of Yatra vouchers bought from gyftr

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share an experience of Yatra vouchers. I bought 6k worth of Yatra vouchers from GYFTR via Magnus CC. Booked fully refundable hotel for 3 nights but my train ticket was canceled so I had to cancel my stay. Since it was fully refundable, while canceling it showed full refund on Yatra app. So i canceled but i didn't receive any refund in Gift Card or anywhere else. Then i read the terms and conditions of YATRA vouchers and it stated "17. In case of cancellations, Travel Voucher amount will not be refunded back to the customer." So in short, i lost 6k 🙁

This has been discussed and emphasized by many members in the past.Some searching on the forum would have saved your money

Gift cards are a very intricate tool. Research before buying. Not all platforms have implemented them in a way to be useful for customer. Amazon, myntra, BB have made it the most seamless by integrating GC and Wallet (even flipkart fails here). All the other platforms read reviews of others who used the GC.

Where is this T&C that you mentioned? On the yatra GV page on their own portal, they mention that the amount would be refunded to GC and can be reused. I'd suggest you try using it once before giving up.

why didnt you try any other mode of travel like car or flight?

it doesn’t say anywhere in the FAQ’s or the gyftr portal but it is mentioned in the email in which the gift card was sent. I still contacted yatra support and they stated the same. gift vouchers can be used only once and in case of cancellation no refund will be provided.

Train ticket was cancelled means? were you on a waitlist?

Off topic, I thought Flipkart GVs are as good as Myntra, Amazon Vouchers. Are they not?

When you purchase those gift card via Gyftr Edgerewards, it throws a pop up that Yatra GVs are non-refundable under any circumstances (unless you use ad blocker which blocks it). Also in the T&C you accept, it clearly says : "17. In case of cancellations, Travel Voucher amount will not be refunded back to the customer."

It's difficult to check if you got credit for cancelled or returned orders without a wallet ledger

No, that’s not the case. Even Flipkart gives you a transaction history for the vouchers. On the app (I am telling from my iPhone, layout maybe a bit different on android), go to Account>Saved cards & wallet>View transaction history
