As you all know, Amex India had stopped accepting new credit card applications back in March 2025. Finally, after almost 7 months, they’ve decided to start taking applications again from 19th September 2025 22nd September, 2025 24th September, 2025.

Update (24th Sept, 2025): American Express has started accepting applications for the Platinum Charge and Platinum Reserve cards. Card benefits remain unchanged, and there is no referral (MGM) bonus at the moment. Amex has not shared any official update or timeframe for the rollout of their other card variants.

I upgraded from MRCC to Platinum Travel during the close period. Closed my MRCC because having all three (including Gold Charge) didn't make sense. Turns out, they reduced my credit limit from Rs 4.1 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh despite CIBIL of 794 and spending Rs 3.2 lakh in a year. Now considering whether to close Platinum Travel, which will affect my credit usage history, or keep it. Sorry for the side track.

Amex don't ask for income proof most of the time... But you never know they can ask for you... But Try your luck

Nothing new... they just upgraded their IT infrastructure.. some partners, etc.

Apply as student then and no ltf cc from amex.

any hack to apply without service area as currently all my addresses belong to non-servicable areas of AMEX.
