Big shoutout to @BestBanker

What are the charges for this credit card? I also want to apply for AMEX credit card.
Amex offers multiple range of credit cards, here are the best ones:

1. Amex MRCC
Zero first year fee. 1000 bonus points on 6k monthly spends. Rs.1500 fee from second year but waived off on 1.5L yearly spends.

2. Amex Plat Travel
Zero first year fee. 40K bonus points on 4L annual spends. Rs.3500 fee from second year but negotiable.

3. Amex Gold Card
1k first year fee - 4k bonus joining points. 1000 bonus points on 6k monthly spends. 5x reward multiplier on gift vouchers. Rs.4500 second year fee.

If you spend 10k-20k per month, get the MRCC card. Or if you can spend 4L yearly, you can get the Plat Travel card.
DM me if you have any other questions, I will be happy to help! 🙂

Officially, you cannot hold an Amex card if you're going away from the country for 6 months or more.
So, depending on how long you stay in the country, either of the Amex Plat Travel or MRCC should be good based on your expenses.

I think Amex itself is very fast in processing the application irrespective of any help. I am not against any user but I applied for plat charge through online
application (using referral) and received the card in 3 working days itself.

Being an NRI, why apply here ? There will be a lot of cards available for you abroad.
Good question !! So to hedge the FX as a lot of my expenses are in INR. Secondly, I am not sure if you are aware about Spain/Portugal but no we does not have good rewarding system and great cards like the ones offered in India. So coming back to my question, do you have any suggestion?

... do you have any suggestion?

I never took any CC in any foegn land.
Whenever I/we travel abroad, my son (or my company's principals) make all travel n stay arrangements n give me/us prepaid Cards. So, rarely use my own cards (from India) or draw forex cash from ATMs.

But, my son, who is in USA and hold many CCs there, always say that US CCs offer better rewards/cashbacks n other fringe benefits like offers. He says AMEX, CapitalOne n Chase cards are better.

In Europe, we/I get BNP cards (as our principals are Paris-based). Again, rarely used.

All such cards are returned to them just before we board our return flights.

I agree, in USA they do have credit card that does offer better rewards/ cashbacks and other fringe benefits. Unfortunately, it is not the case in some west EU countries. That is one of the reason I am trying to check out indian CC, Its easy to make payments in india (electricity, society, flights and so on). More or less when i calculate my annual spend in INR a domestic card can help me to save a hefty sum.
