Hi TFians,
I recently applied for a BOB credit card offline through the bank. Earlier today, I received an application number followed by a CIBIL enquiry. Later in the evening, I received another application number along with another CIBIL enquiry. Upon checking the status of the first application, I found that it was rejected. When I reached out to the sales executive who pitched the card, I was told that the rejection was due to a technical error on the bank's end, and they had added another application.
However, if the bank couldn't update the application correctly at first, they should not have issued a rejection message citing internal policies as the reason. I had met all the eligibility criteria for the card, and the rejection seems unjustified.
I have already written to the bank requesting the deletion of the first CIBIL enquiry, as it was caused by their mistake. However, I'm unsure how this will impact my CIBIL score if they don't delete it.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue or can provide insights on how this may affect my credit score? I would appreciate any advice or suggestions.
