I opened Axis burgundy account digitally last month and today I was changing my debit card pin when I stumbled upon upgrade option. I was not able to find the difference between this and existing debit card can anyone please explain?

No, they were issuing Burgundy debit card even after MC ban. I have Burgundy VISA infinite variant card. I mailed PNO also for issuing Burgundy private debit card, they denied stating for Burgundy customers they can't issue Burgundy private debit card. I escalated this multiple times last month, which is of no use. Now, after the MC ban lift they started issuing MC world variant.

Earlier Burgundy Debit card was available only on Mastercard variant & Private debit card on Visa variant, so when the Mastercard ban imposed AXIS had no immediate option but to issue Burgundy Private Debit card as alternative till the time bank launched Burgundy Visa variant debit card somewhere after 4-5 months of ban. So whoever opened new Burgundy account or placed block & replace card option for their accounts during that 4-5 months period has received Visa Private debit card. App still show option to upgrade which was supposed to be removed after launch of Visa variant Burgundy debit card.
now, they stopped issuing Burgundy VISA variant also. Only Burgundy MC variant is available now. PNO said they don't issue VISA variant of the card anymore, not even Burgundy VISA variant. I've raised an issue with RBI Ombudsman, got a call yesterday from AXIS bank yesterday, they said they'll update me in 3 days.
They will not issue Visa variant because Mastercard ban has been lifted and Visa variant was introduced only for temporary basis till the ban in place.
It was never the part of Burgundy account Product.
Yes, that's their response. But, when you click on replace debit card it was showing Burgundy VISA card. That is the issue from their end, which is misleading customers. I don't care what is part of their product, I see an option in their website which says VISA but they issued a MC variant, so I filed a complaint, to which they agreed it's a glitch in their system, lets see what they do now.

No, I do not. Opened the account in July this year. I am maintaining Burgundy savings TRV only.

No I haven't received my Burgundy Debit Cards yet. These are from the insta kit which the branch gives immediately when opening the account. Some Easy Secure+ debit cards
I'm not getting this. Does this vary between offline / online opened Burgundy account? The first guy who posted had also opened an online account.
I have had the same process but I was never able to see this option in my netbanking? Any idea why this might be the case? Also, @Kashyap.Bhaskara and @rudrank and anyone else who has the Burgundy Private Debit Card which only having a Burgundy Account (Not Burgundy Private Account), can you guys please check and let me know if within your portal, the Burgundy Private Debit Card is showing up still?

Yeah, I opened online, transferring the initial funding through Netbanking, not a cheque.
you transferred only initial amount?
Requirement is 10L AQB or 30L NRV. Are you maintaining any of these ?
Also, when did you open the account and did you have the update option right away?

Mine is an old account, not digitally opened (Upgraded from Priority to Burgundy in Jan 2022). I don't see that option:
