Can I get core HDFC cc if my first HDFC credit card is Swiggy HDFC cc?

So, I have a bank account with HDFC since 2021. My first HDFC credit card is the Swiggy Credit Card that I applied from the Swiggy app and got it as a lifetime free card. I have been using this Swiggy HDFC card since September 2024, and now when I try to apply for an HDFC core card like MoneyBack+ or Milennia, the webpage says that I already have an HDFC credit card.

So, I wanted to ask that if my first HDFC credit card is a co-branded card (Swiggy, TataNeu, etc.), then will HDFC never give me a core card? Is there a definite rule that owning a co-branded card blocks me from getting core cards in the future? Thanks.

Well, there is no other option as of right now.

Although you might be able convert Swiggy card to core card.

You can get a Freedom card through Paytm. I just got it yesterday.

I think you don't have to look for MCC if you are usng Instamart app and Swiggy card on it. It applies 10% by default.
(If it showed 10% in the app while making payment, but you still didn't get 10% in the statement, then you can raise a complaint)

I dont see option to apply for freedom card on paytm. Any other way?

I converted my Tata neu Infinity to Regalia gold FYF few days back.
First written to card services, they rejected my request immediately. Then sent mail to PNO and they were able to provide me with Regalia Gold FYF. The whole process took around 3 weeks.

You can easily get a core credit card if u hold any existing co branded credit cards with hdfc
use same mobile number registered with hdfc in paytm , it will show the list of cards and apply through that , if u already have account with hdfc , no vkyc is required , u will easily get the card if not u might have to do vkyc alone

my suggestion or hack but take it if u want

get all the cobranded credit cards which u need from hdfc -> tata neu , swiggy , phonepe , marriott etc., then finally apply core cc through paytm

Note : - There should be a min of 3-6 months waiting period if required if u get any cc from hdfc to apply for next one

HDFC has temporarily stopped giving card offers in paytm. Wait till new year time. They might restart again.
