This is disappointing.
Why is this disappointing? If they start allowing this, people will start misusing edge rewards and start selling it to others. You can transfer to your mile account and then transfer through airline/hotel account(if it's allowed). In Marriot it's allowed to transfer between accounts.

It Creates a problem when want to use points in one family. There should be some exceptions for this.

It has been the rule for as long as I know. You were never meant to be able to transfer to anyone else other than the account holder. Virtually all similar rewards-loyalty programs share this rule among others like forbidding selling/bartering of these points.
It discourages and prevents abuse, misuse of their program and helps their bottomline whether that's in maintaining the value, availability, exclusivity, etc.

On top of that be aware that each airline/hotel has their own policies.

However some allow transfers as per posted by @kkk

These "free" rewards are completely at the discretion of Axis and partners anyway. They could go tomorrow and change transfer rates to 2:1 and there's nothing you can do. But if you're in the Magnus train, it will still beat any other card in the market on that first 1L spend.
