Cashback SBI Card cashback calculation logic

I have noticed that in my cashback SBI card the cashback provided is exactly 1 rupee less than it should be. In first month I ignored it, but same thing happed this month as well.

For example, for a purchase of rs 541 they have provided rs 26 cashback, but it should be rs 27 .

Even if they round down the amount in the multiple of 100s, then it should be rs 25 for Rs 500.

Seems like SBI is using some weird logic. Can anyone explain the logic here?

Solution
They have some 1% + 4% way to calculate.(read somewhere in their tnc) so for eg for 541 they will round off 1%×541=5.41~5 + 4%×541=21.64~21
Equalling 26
this seems to have been updated and its not 1% + 4% anymore. Its 5% but rounded down now

I did some calculations on my own on my last month statement and I am missing accounting for ₹33 can anyone Identify what I am missing here?

Yes, it was changed last April itself 😅.

Btw, how r u sure that tata play recharge gave 0? I think that might have given reward and then there will be 63 difference and then there are lot of options to make 63 - 25+38, 13+50 etc.

But as there are multiple options, u can never be sure. Only way to know for sure is ask mcc from customer care for each transaction.

That's strange... Never noticed that but my cashbacks were rounded off to nearest lower number...

Because I assumed it comes under utility payment, just an assumption. if I do add it then it means 50+13 which are both Amazon transactions, one GC and another is normal purchase.

Will they give me MCC for all the transactions? or can I just ask for which transactions did I not get cashback?

Tell them transaction details date, amount and merchant name for each transaction for which u want mcc code. U can first try the shortlisted ones, if not getting excluded mcc, then ask others.
