Change in annual fees for your Jupiter Debit Card

An annual fee of ₹199 + GST will be levied for the first time in March 2024. Going forward, this fee will be charged in March of every year for your virtual or physical Debit Card

How can you skip the Annual Debit Card Fee?
1. Spend ₹25,000 or more on eligible merchants using your Debit Card between April 2023 to March 2024, OR

2. Become a PRO or Salary Account user for any 6 months between April 2023 to March 2024

First Fi debit card AMC & Now Jupiter DC AMC. It was bound to happen.

If you have a sum of around rs 10,000 rotate it in jupiter acc for 15-20 days every mnth or just create a FD of the same.. You will be counted as PRO!

I'll definitely avoid the AMC by being PRO for 6+ months

Even spending with Jupiter card is less rewarding.

I have that account for literally no reason. Just added 1 FD initially during account opening of around 30K and then left it like that. I do transactions once in a while to prevent from dormancy, that's it.

Strange to see such trends.

Inviting customers promising them the moon.

Stumping n threatening them with charges from a future date. Even for virtual cards.

Forcing a majority of them to place a FD.

Giving a false status tag of a PRO - even for insignificant n short term FDs.

Levying closure charges - so that customers choose to stay back.

However, it is a new way of asking for deposits - without actually asking.

Deceptive n camouflaged marketing.

This is the result of non-Bankers, techies n marketing/sales guys floating n running banks nowadays.

Giving new meanings to words like promises, trust, commitment, long term relationship, loyalty....

I am eager to know how many of these so-called Bankers are really true Bankers - of having qualified specific banking industry exams like JAIIB and CAIIB ?

Chaps selling soaps n toothpastes n plots n apartments are now heading sales teams in these new fin-tech ventures.

Against whom you are going to complaint with the RBI? Jupiter? Jupiter isn't regulated by RBI. If you are going to register a complaint against federal bank then federal bank is already charging for debit cards.

Yeah,, you have complain against federal Bank. They are the banking partner. Jupiter account is a federal Bank account which is only manager by Jupiter.

Jupiter debit card is a cobranded debit card and federal bank is already charging for their debit cards.

Yeah.. but initially it was offered as lifetime free.

& Its highly unethical for then to charge the old customer who got it for free..

Received mail from Federal bank for KYC Updation.

I've been receiving this every alternate day.
Will close the account today.
Because I received this in September as well, couldn't do re-kyc because of the stupid nature of Federal-Jupiter partnership but Jupiter support managed to temporarily waive off the requirement.
But as we can see it's back very soon after.
