It was my Salary account (2006).Holding citibank cc was a quo status and i had people treating treat me well when they knew i had a CC(early 20's).Sadly all of that was in a drain and vain since last 2 years.I will login to Axis with credentials in a while(ironically i have cc dues to clear which i need to AEAP).

I understand the process as I am also part of that. Status Quo of Citibank was high. Even Citi gave excellent service and Citi timely offers with Apple iPhone was also great to name few. I remember getting 10% off and getting 10K on iPhone 7. I have posted many times here that Citi will be definitely missed as it had an emotional connect with many who has associated with it back in 2006-2012 (Approx Timeframe). But nothing can be done just keep all Citi things as collectibles.

So you mean they have successfully downgraded the quality of service without a glitch !! 😉

Only time will tell, for now i will give a chance as i dont have to move any of my ECS, mandates, e.t.c. If the quality degrades beyond my expectations, we always have an option to pick the right product from market. I am not a person to crib, pick the right one and move on 😎

No, nothing ..
No application was rejected..in fact I am not interested in their premium offerings..
Their business model is different. They won't normally reject any high end cards applications

I will give you a simple example..
After opening a SBLBR account online , after a couple of days , somebody from the branch called me and welcomed me to 🪓 and during the conversation when I asked some basic questions he warned me that if I use this account frequently my account will be blocked as it is a SB account..
I was kind of stunned because my question was no way related to account usage.. he wanted to pass that message somehow and he did it…

So what it tells us is: by default 🪓 treats its customers as fraud unless we are proven otherwise later…

And with others experiences that I heard here they proved my belief correct time and again

Nope, his intention was not to pass any message. Its the kind of attitude people with little knowledge have. They will tell you what they know instead of what they have been asked, to fill the void. You will find them in all walks of life. Prominent figures are customer care agents, bank/insurance employees, colleagues, superiors.....list is endless.

Axis is sending my Citi Premier Card statement for July 2024 which was closed 1-1.5 year now on the Axis Horizon name. Hope they don't send my IOCL card which was closed 6 years back.
