Finally an RM from Axis called for my citibank account.. saying transition will finish by june 2024 and to expect more communication around the same.more regularly..He didn't have any info on what the plan was for CCs. Said that they are reviewing on case to case and the eligibility limits may be relaxed. I specifically asked for 3L credit. / Magnus etc.. He was non commital.

@S S V It is an observation from reading Citi-Axis related threads on TF. Almost everyone, "Almost" being a keyword there, are expecting Atlas / Magnus for their Citi Rewards cards. That's like asking for Gold, not even Silver, in exchange of Bronze! I did say that "People seem to be unnecessarily harsh on Axis." In fact, not just Axis. SBI, HDFC and ICICI get a lot of hate too on TF. Sometimes the banks goof up but often it is unrealistic expectations from people.
Understand..

People can wish anything for what they want and get disappointed by the reality… we can’t stop that..
But majority of complaints you get from Axis is not about the actual products but its services…

I am not an Axis customer. People seem to be unnecessarily harsh on Axis. Most Citi customers hold the Citi Rewards CC which probably won't figure in the top-25 list of most rewarding CCs. Plus its annual fees are waived on spends of Rs 35k, I believe. Yet everyone expects Axis to offer them Atlas or Magnus LTF. That's extortionate, I say. People should have reasonable expectations. LTF is a short term curse that will sooner or later end.
Since you are not a customer of that bank you won't understand.

People have 1st hand experience here in TF. Their pain hurts that's why they scream.

Lagta hai tumhara Dil lag gaya axis se.

My recommendation for you:
Do one thing first - open a savings or current account, apply for a credit card, use for six months and then come back and share your experience

This reminds me of that Just For Fun thread someone opened about how to get some excitement / adventure in life by opening an account at some bad bank or signing up for a shady credit card 🙂

Your wish will be granted in a few months. I am a Citi Rewards CC holder. So I'll be coming to Axis officially soon.

Since last 13 years, I have been using Citibank account as my Salary Account, had my 1st CC with them (IndianOil CC and later on Rewards CC). Amongst other savings account I have, this was undoubtedly the most fuss free account. However, once they change my Debit Card and App name to Axis, I will probably move to HSBC Premier or something similar. I have absolutely no hope.

Such a confidence about AXIS among the customers ...

My Citi Prestige has a limit of 25L and Axis cards have a limit of 10L.
Post merger scenario:
1. 25L + 10L = 35L across all cards.
2. 25L across all cards.
3. 10L across all cards.
My money is on third option 😂
Again a very confident AXIS customer .. nice to see the overflowing confidence ..😉

For HNI customers of Citi now hsbc premier and stanc priority could be better options than staying with axis.
I don't know about HSBC but can say that there's nothing good with SC. Their CC offering is not good enough, including Ultimate. Customer service would rank behind ICICI (who themselves aren't good enough).

Honestly, even I'm in doldrums as to where to migrate my Wealth account.

Honestly, Citi started turning into Axis almost immediately after the takeover was announced.

I was with Citi for almost 25 years, and a Private Client customer since 2007. Not just me, but a few of my family members as well. That means a very solid amount of money with Citi, very high limits on the Prestige card and all that goes along with a seriously high value 25 year relationship.

I felt the degradation start almost immediately. RMs wouldn't reply on the app, long delays in responding to emails (if I was lucky to get a response at all). No written responses to anything - for everything "we tried to call you blah blah".

Under Citi, one could see the name and contact information of the RM and service manager after loging in. Axis made that disappear too. The link stayed, but clicking on it would mean "this feature is not available".

Axis even messed up the closure of accounts for those who did not consent to the transfer from Citi.

That was right at the start and it just got worse from there.

Maybe it was part of Axis Bank's transition plan to steadily deteriorate the Citi service levels so customers didn't get a sudden shock!

Anyway about 3 months ago all of us ended all our relationships with Citi Axis.

Good riddance.

I had Citi fuel credit card for last 4 years which worked fine and never had to contact their customer care. Since last 2 months, I can see it is not crediting fuel surcharge correctly but don’t have the energy to complain about small small amounts. Thinking of closing it now.

HSBC is absolutely the best option for high ticket Citi holders who want a no-nonsense experience with banking and a high rewards credit card (3% flat).

I'm not sure if 3% is a good enough offering. I understand Infinia too gives 3.33% but it's value lies in the accelerated rewards one get along with unlimited Lounge PP.

What's the HSBC's offering in terms of CC?

HSBC has no cap on the 3%. Even govt transactions (especially advance tax and utility bills) will get you the 3%. Unlimited lounge access both domestic and international. Plus, I got the plastic for LTF. Check if they're still giving out plastic LTF. Also don't forget the weekly offers in every category, electronics, travel, gold, dining, movies ..etc. I don't use my HSBC premier because it was given to me without me asking, but I've come to realise the benefits it offers. Still not at par with Infinia and I would completely agree. But, HSBC as a bank is no-nonsense. The RM will not pester you for anything else.
