Close HDFC add on card with same number and issue new one

I got an add on card for my wife on my previous card about 2 years back. Now my card got upgraded and they send the card with the same number again. I found out that HDFC add on card now comes with different number as well. How do I get it for my wife ?

call customer care...ask for card closure.....care will put a request for closure and give you 7 days...card will get closed next day ( check in mycards of netbanking)....apply for new card....
Did this last week.....new card in 3 days...

Does applying for new card mean you have to do a fresh add-on card application? Add-on member doesn't have an HDFC customer ID so don't want to go through offline application again.

yes....new add-on... it was easy for hdfc account holder.
In your case, ask them to replace over call.

Yes I also request for add on card for my brother but the magical thing is that card number is same for my and my brothers credit card

I had called customer care to close my wife's HDFC add on card. They said I need to fill a form and submit it at a branch. She then emailed the form to me. This was around 6-8 months ago, has it changed now and do they allow add on closure over phone?

Does the transaction OTP comes on primary or add-on mobile number? The add-on card is only accessible via primary netbanking or mycards, it this how it works?

Yesterday I closed 2 of my add on cards over call. 1860 267 6161

Finally spoke to hdfc credit card team, they say that since the add on credit card number is the same as primary credit card number they cannot take the request on phone and I need to drop a letter in one of the bank branches for closure. Even if I want the add on card reissued with a different number, I need to first close the add on card by sending the letter as then apply for a fresh add on card later.
Don't know why they can't make things simple!
