Closing AMEX MRCC - thoughts?

I currently have a couple of Axis LTF cards (Neo, MyZone), a LTF Amazon ICICI card, an AMEX MRCC and a HDFC Infinia plastic (paid) card. The Infinia is my main card.

I applied for the MRCC in 2023 and was using it exclusively for Amazon vouchers (4 x 1500) each month. With the recent devaluation and the Rs 250 voucher denomination, this no longer seems worth it. My travel is somewhat limited so I'm thinking seriously about closing the MRCC.

Question: any good reasons to keep the MRCC card active? (anything I'm missing...)

I received the card by referral so it was FYF and then Rs. 1500 per year - oddly, they didn't charge me the second year fee (even though my spends are well below any waiver limit)

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

I am seeing higher denominations nowadays.. You also get 1000MR for 6k which is good. Yes it doesn't makes sense if you have Infinia.. Close it if not interested in Amex.. For the past few years, Amex gives offers and Zomato/Swiggy subscriptions as addons.

Amex not giving too many reasons to keep the card. With Amex being useless offline, and Uber also going cash only for autos, and with getting better deal with other cards on say Milkbasket, struggling to meet the 4 1500 transactions...

Yeah I am thinking to close too, after my first year gets over in April, it forces me to spend on it and money gets stuck in Apay wallet, I pay my bills using Axis Airtel to ig makes no sense for me.

But, will they call b4 renewing to confirm with me, or will it be charged and renewed on its own ?

In my case, I spent nearly 2L last year (being the first year). But, this year, I hardly used the MRCC card - mainly due to our 6m stay in USA.

Seriously considered closing MRCC now - BUT decided to keep it - despite 1500/- annual charge (plus GST).

TWO reasons.

One - we have an add-on card on that n my elder son is likely to use it this year.

Two - as I am 65 this year - almost all banks will NOT give me new cards.

So, the best thing for me is to keep it. I am happy with that decision.

What better deal with other cards are you getting on Milkbasket? It has infact closed Apay option recently

The card is free if you spend ₹150k on it in a year. What's stopping you from spending ₹150k in a year? And if you don't have enough expenses, why'd you apply for the card in the first place? MRCC makes no sense with full or even half fee.

A simple 2.5 percent back on AU Zenith. without all those minimum amount and number of transactions stuff. And a few decent UPI cashback offers.
I had a flight booking I could do on Amex this month, so used MRCC on milkbasket for a transaction to make it for the month. But not the best possible option generally...

This is the reason I upgraded the MRCC to Plat travels. but, unfortunately, I was around 10k sort of spend offer. They said once you upgrade, your 40k spends that I did is gone. You have to restart the Spend offer. Can someone confirm this is true? The card no remains same.
