Closing one of the Dual Cards

TF Buzz
Hi TF, does closing one card of the ICICI Dual Cards close both the cards. I am seeing contradictory comments on this. Thinking to close the Rubyx Amex while keep the Mastercard variant for Railway lounge access.

ICICI has one of the best structure in terms of reporting cards to credit reporting agencies (CIBIL etc.). All gemstone cards under 1 single account (except Emeralde). So, closing doesn't improve or decrease the credit score.

-- U can safely close the card variant as per your request, it wont close all variants in that gemstone. U can keep whichever u want, close whichever u don't.

He meant to ask about dual variants. Like Ruby Amex Master which come together.

If you don't have any other Amex network card and if it's LTF, then don't close Rubyx Amex. ICICI Amex network cards gives instant 150 + 150 discount in Swiggy food + Instamart. Also, ICICI Amex fetched me a hefty discount while booking hotel through Easemytrip this October, where the offer was reserved for Amex Cards.

This is partially not true, but not entirely. In case of mine, I hold 9 ICICI CC and let me tell you my CC a/cs. In one a/c, Emeralde Master, Amex, Sapphiro Visa, Master, Amex and Rubyx Visa are clubbed. Another a/c has only Emeralde Visa. Another a/c has only Rubyx Rupay. Another a/c has Apay ICICI. So 3 a/cs for 8 gemstone excluding one for Apay
