Cred cancels the Friday Jackpot after declaring the winners

Even though I usually do not fall for the cred jackpots, but yesterday I just played the friday jackpot without having any hope of getting anything meaningful. But I scored the JACKPOT and it wasn't a small one. It included a Macbook, Ipad, Airpods Max and a TUMI bag worth INR 3.25L.

I filled out the form to receive the items and they took my PAN to pay the TDS on the jackpot. BUT few minutes back I get a call from Cred team that they had to cancel the jackpot because of some technical issue and they crediting back the coins and good will gesture INR 1K cashback.

Is this even legal to cancel after declaring the winner?

If you want to help me spreading the word X and Reddit

There will always be some TnC which will say that they have the right to cancel the contest/promotion at any point in time and there is no legal action that you can take.
What you could do is try shaming them on social media with snapshot and ask for a higher compensation for the disapointmet from not getting anything after winning.

You should actually go and file consumer case against them using eDaakhil. Even if they have some term and conditions which allows them to cancel contest after winning, it may still not hold valid in court. They will get beaten up badly on this.

If you what to do more damage.. maybe search online if this "cancelling a jackpot after winning" is a regular activity. If yes, you do have a legal case for fraud. Also if you know someone from media or newspaper, get an article published. Creed will automatically reach out to you to settle and for damage control.

agree on this. those t&c won't stay valid before court.

OP, which state are you from? There are some states in India that have banned online gambling (jackpot is considered as online gambling) and hence after you provided your details they may have realised that they cannot give you the jackpot as it against law.
If you are also from one of these states, you will have no case in court.

Edit. I am no expert, just my thoughts. You could check if legal action can be taken considering the value is large

That's very unfortunate. This is the first time I have actually come across someone who actually won something in CRED jackpot (even though they cancelled). Otherwise Reddit and similar fora are full of people complaining that CRED is not a trustworthy platform. It fetches your data and sells it to third - party providers and gives you almost nothing. If you can manage all your credit card billing cycles, payment due dates etc on your own, there's no need to use CRED or any other such portal.

I am from Uttar Pradesh and it is not banned in this state. They specifically mentioned a technical glitch. I have the call recording too.

Then I think you should push this. Don't let a company like Creed get away. Keep all evidence as they will delete / everything from the back end. Creed cannot be trusted. And like many have said, this is the first time even I am hearing that a non-influencer / common person has actually won something this big!!

Iv never trusted Creed and do not have a ID and never will!
