Cred cancels the Friday Jackpot after declaring the winners

Even though I usually do not fall for the cred jackpots, but yesterday I just played the friday jackpot without having any hope of getting anything meaningful. But I scored the JACKPOT and it wasn't a small one. It included a Macbook, Ipad, Airpods Max and a TUMI bag worth INR 3.25L.

I filled out the form to receive the items and they took my PAN to pay the TDS on the jackpot. BUT few minutes back I get a call from Cred team that they had to cancel the jackpot because of some technical issue and they crediting back the coins and good will gesture INR 1K cashback.

Is this even legal to cancel after declaring the winner?

So I got this information from my sources, according to the intended program no one was suppose to win the jackpot but due to some intern's minor mistake the variable in the 'if' condition was misspelled and all this happened.

It's a joke don't take it seriously.

Getting confirmation bias on my decision to not use cred.

But you deserver compensation for this. Cred is calls itself one of the top startups in India, so it better start delivering the prizes. As suggested by others, you can try consumer forum etc for this. I suspect you have a strong case. Good luck @sangalaviral

No, it's not legal - it's akin to a lottery refusing to award the winner and can be challenged in civil court u/s 316 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
