Credit Card Excessive Balance Refund

sherlock

TF Buzz
I have an Axis Bank credit card. I recently received the SMS from the Bank which is as follows:
You have a credit balance of INR xxx.x/- on your Axis Bank Credit Card no. XXXXXX. Call 18004190064/18605005555 to place your refund request.

(I have intentionally replaced the numbers by X and x).

When I called the given numbers, I found out there is no option to withdraw the excessive credit in my credit card. What is the procedure to place a refund request?

Want to ask what to do if such credit balance is post closing the card? They say they can't refund the amount now.
I have closed my card a few months before. I am receiving SMS stating that there is Rs. 0.48 credit balance. So, the account is not closed in CIBIL. When I wrote to customer care, they have asked me to send copy of cancelled cheque. I am waiting for the outcome

I have a credit balance on my Axis bank credit card, but they are refusing to refund the amount to my bank account(I don’t have one with Axis) without providing proof of bank statement reflecting payments towards my credit card. I don’t feel comfortable sharing the bank statement with all my transactions just for a refund. Is it normal to be asked for the bank statements showing payments? If not, should I raise this with the RBI ombudsmen?

If you want go and raise after escalation.

That's your credit card account and you made payment. And you're providing your account details other than Axis because you don't a SA with them, why it's required to get a month statement? Utterly Nonsense.

Ek baar ko txn slip samjh mein bhi aata hai but bank statement. 🤣

Canceled Cheque must do the trick.
Directly send an email with the snap of the same as an attachment.
OR
Download custom statement of 1-2 days and share with them.

I don’t want to share my bank balance and transaction details.

Also I have already sent them an email with a cancelled cheque. I have escalated it and asked for justification for the statements. Let’s see what happens.

Were you able to get the balance issue resolved and get it closed in CIBIL? Was the cancelled cheque enough document for them?
