Hello All,

There seems to be weird calibration in UPI Credit card payment.

I have two cards one from HDFC and one from PNB which can be linked with UPI

PNB PLATINUM - Works smooth as af, has worked almost on all the merchants apart from 1-2 (linked with BHIM Android)

HDFC RUPAY NEU INFINITE- Rarely works mostly on big merchants( linked with BHIM apple)

I took both the phones to market and tested on roadside vendors, tried with hdfc it failed as I got an error of money can only be sent to current account

Tried on same barcode with PNB, worked flawlessly.

I really don't know why is this discrepancy coming, both are working on same rupay network. Possibly HDFC has a more fool proof implementation and Rupay not so much but can't really understand this.

Problem is BHIM version 3.1
Try with Paytm Beta version. It has option to link Rupay Credit Card.

I don't think IOS has beta version, my both the BHIM apps are up to date. Works fine on Android with PNB but not so much on iOS with hdfc

I have same version installed and I face issue on both PNB and HDFC cards. But now I use Paytm app, it's more responsive then BHIM app.

Ios does not have paytm lite sadly 😓

My experience so far with HDFC Tata Neu Rupay Credit Card UPI Transactions:

1) It's recommended to use PayZapp or Paytm for a better experience, as the BHIM app checks for the Merchant Category Code in QR codes and won't initiate a transaction if the merchant's QR code doesn't have an MC Code. This results in an error message stating that the transaction cannot be sent to savings or current accounts.

2) If the settlement bank of the merchant is Paytm Payments Bank, the transactions will be declined.

3) When scanning a Paytm Merchant QR code, the per-transaction limit is only Rs. 2000, while on other Merchant QR codes, it's Rs. 1 Lakh.

Unfortunately, I do not have any other Rupay Credit Cards to test the same.

Actually i received my HDFC Tata Neu Credit Card only 8 days ago, so currently there is no information displayed regarding reward points on either the HDFC Cards Webapp or the Tata Neu app.

So through Paytm, payzapp we can transfer money from cc to account? Do they not check merchant category?

No you can't send the money to your Personal QR.

Did you get reward points for upi payments? If yes then when did you get it?

I got reward points for tata neu infinity card. The points are reflecting in hdfc bank app. It started reflected once the transaction is settled. The points will be transferred to tata neu app post bill generation I guess.

I didn't get reward points for UPI transactions at local stores but got I made 18K payment via amazon pay with HDFC Card UPI and i got 180 points.

I also got reward points for UPI transaction on Hdfc Rupay card however it rarely works on small merchants, only on big merchants. I get an error Money can't be sent from Credit to current account

As i mentioned it's an issue with BHIM app maybe they'll fix it later but Paytm Beta & PayZapp is working great for me with my HDFC (i don't have any other Rupay Card). By the way i also got reward points for UPI Transactions on my HDFC Tata Neu Rupay Credit Card.

I tried linking with Payzapp, it won't work with any Paytm UPi merchants. Sadly mostly people have paytm UPI merchant barcode where as on Android, Rupay platinum from PNB works everywhere. From roadside guy to showrooms, Paytm to Phone pe to bharatpe
