Different HDFC Card Approved

I have applied for regalia card on a C2C basis which meant I would get an LTF card up to the limit of the card I applied on the basis of. However, I received this message today from HDFC Bank:

" Dear Customer, Update on HDFC Bank Credit Card Application - xxxxx After reviewing your information, we have successfully processed your application towards Millennia Credit Card instead of what you opted for. Check Card features: hdfcbk.io/a/6VAWl5qd "

Has this happened to anyone else?

What is the credit limit and remaining limit of the card you have given for c2c?

What a scam bank. They made me take regalia and now this. Will escalate this with the nodal officer and see what happens
In this time of devaluation, I think Regalia is good for nothing but just non-spend based benefits like lounge access n all. They should just close this card.
Millenia card is still better than Regalia in terms of rewards/cashback if you were looking for spend based benefits.

If the bank is looking into existing card limit as criteria for giving new card then maybe they needed strictly more than 3L limit card and then they might have considered you for Regalia. Just my guess.

I also agree Millennia is good card compared to Regalia (except you don't need International lounge access).

Same they did to me, Applied Millenia, they tried to give me MoneyBack. I didn't accept the delivery and asked customer care to close the card.

@retr0rand0m have a look:

many people have been fooled via this method.. also check with customer care if the Millennia you got is LTF or not
Yes, 2nd card which I got under Diwali festival treat offer by HDFC claiming LTF. Once card received I mailed customer care for LTF confirmation and it was paid. Closed that too 😏

Let me check this with the CC. HDFC seems to be a very Shady bank until now amongst all the accounts I have.
They have way too many 3rd parties selling CCs for commission, and those guys don't care whether you close the card or not as they receive money as soon as card is approved..

if HDFC changes the commission to something like "commission paid after 3 months of card approval only if card stays active", then all those 3rd parties would go down the drain 😀

At least the card is LTF. However, the limit provided is 10% of the limit of the C2C statement provided.
I have raised a ticket with CC telling misguidance and very low limit, let us see how this goes.

Damn, 10% is quite low. How old was the 3L limit card you applied with? Did you have any prior relationship with HDFC in terms of bank accounts etc?

The card is about 5 months old.
I have just opened a savings account and have had a personal loan for the past 2 months with HDFC.
That's your reason. 6 months is the newest a card can be before you can apply C2C with HDFC. So instead of outright rejecting you, their underwriters gave you the bare minimum.

If the card had been one year old and you had applied for something like DCP which has a lower floor limit, you might have got it. If you're patient and unhappy with Millennia, I'd consider just closing it and waiting for either a preapproved offer or just another 7 months to apply C2C again.
