My Diners Club Black LTF got approved.
In my internet banking I can see the following name

What is this New Diners Black DoM? Anything different from usual one?

I registered my card on the app. It is only showing "Indian Lounge - Unlimited Access". Does the card also work on international lounges? When I am searching and clicking the lounge in the app, it is taking me to priority pass page to register. I am trying to register on PP using the card number but get an error message that card number could not be verified. Is it necessary for international lounge access?

The whole customer care system of HDFC Diners Black or Imperia or whosoever they are called (and whatever is being purported here on in general in social media) is a complete joke. It is in complete contrast to expectations of a reasonable resolution, if at all something like that exists in their system. I am almost in the same boat (though not exactly as mine was a first time HDFC card despite of a decade old relationship) and I had applied to them only because I got a mail from my Alumnus cell that one is eligible for an LTF Black (I incidentally do have the required salary and credentials). Right now I have submitted all my details twice over (don't know what's this card upgrade form - maybe not applicable to me since I never had an HDFC CC) but its been some multiple email exchanges and they still can't confirm if card is LTF despite satisfying the alum criteria. (Today got an email saying that person you submitted details to - we can't find such a RM in the system - please give us her details and branch - incidentally had shared the number with them - they still can't find that lady - don't know whom I gave my degree certificate now 🙂)

After this experience, I feel people should really cut some slack to BoB or Axis for that matter. HDFC is equally complicit and literally sucks at customer care, if not worse off than many others. (And yes, I'll probably wait for that LTF signal from their hallowed portal till eternity maybe)
Finally after near 40 days in which HDFC kept postponing the resolution date by 1 week every 10 days, today got an email that my DCB is lifetime free. What should have been an easy process took a lot of time only because my Aadhar address at the time of application was different from my present address and later since I had applied online, the Chennai CC team processed it as normal DCB without even considering the alumnus certificate I had given.

So my suggestion to whoever is applying for LTF DCB under alumnus offer - better show interest on the Diners website - an agent will call you, take the docs and process it (there too eligibility check can fail).

However, if you apply online fully, then you'll get a paid DCB first. Wait for 2 months and then send your email to the grievance cell with the certificate copy. Mostly it should convert to LTF if your institute is on the list in another month's time.
