Duplicate last 4 digits causing issues in bill fetching

Apparently my ICICI VISA Amazon Pay and ICICI AMEX RubyX CC has the same last 4 digits. None of the bill payment apps work due to this post BBPS implementation. I can only pay via bank's own site/app so i keep missing all the reward points.

Any solutions?

Try to replace one card with a new one. That's the best option without any hussle.
 
thats a genuine problem a customer can face. I work in the payments industry and was discussing this with a senior, his advice was instead of banks looking for a solution, BBPS needs to come with a solution to the problem. Anyways very few folks have multiple cards + the probability of having same card is very low, for banks to invest time for this problem!
 
In Amazon pay you need to type full card number to get the bill. So , it shouldn't be a pbm
That was the case before BBPS implementation. Now all of them only ask for last 4 digits.

Try to replace one card with a new one. That's the best option without any hussle.
I will reissue APay CC as RubyX comes in dual variant. If i block CC with the reason "damaged", will i get a new number upon reissuance?

Checked on iMobile, there is no option of Block and Replace. Try to contact customer care and ask them to replace the card.

Hi, sorry to bother you. Can you give your inputs on this issue. I feel your inputs working in payment industry will be helpful.

Cred somehow made payment using BBPS to some wrong card account (my registered number, my Mother's card's last4 digits). There is no way BBPS should fetch any such account.

But by inputting my registered number and my Mother's card last 4 digits, BHIM BBPS fetches some unknown person's card details.

I have the same icici card since 2018 and retain the same mobile number for 15 years. Both cred and icici are troubling us to no end. Kindly give any input if you can. Thanks in advance.

It also happened with my friend few weeks back. His apay and new coral card's last 4 digit became same. He called customer care. He advised to pay the bill though net banking and replaced apay card.

I think this is issued along with ICICI MC version as a dual card with shared limit and single bill. If you pay on ICICI MC card even the payment will be done successfully.

Hey thanks for opening a thread regarding this serious issue and I'm in the same boat. My Times Black (Closed) and newly issued Rubyx Rupay are ending with same last 4 digits. Apps like Gpay and Amazon where only last 4 digits are required are not going through stating duplicate card. Other ways like Cred & Billdesk are also not going through showing some sort of error. Even their own website Scan & Pay (https://www.icicibank.com/online-services/clicktopay) was not working.
I called CC to explain this issue and then they told to pay through imobile app or netbanking. When I told them that paying through imobile or net banking will force me to pay from my ICICI account only, then they told you can pay through UPI (ccpay.16digitcardnumber@icici).
When I told this is an issue and I need to replace the card, then I was told replacement charge of 200+ GST will be applied.
 
If you can try, go to bank and fill the mobile number change request. In ICICI you need to put card number in form. Choose any one of your card to change mobile number. Your both cards will have different numbers after that. Branch visit and filling up form and copy of ID proof can only solve this.

Atleast this is the only soultion I can provide. The OTP to new number will take time upto days. BBPS expected to be 5-7 days. Mostly banks updates database excel and reconcile with BBPS servers once a week.

Changing Mobile number in one of the CC wont affect other ones or even your bank account RMN. I have different mobile number in ICICI Bank account and CC attached to same cust ID. 🙂

I doubt a damaged card replacement will be with a new number. In all these years, the only time my card number changed was in case of a fraud or renewal/change to a different variant. A damaged card replacement was always with the same number.

Bro i had the same exact exact issue just a week ago. Had to pay 1.8L bill using imobile lost on DC rewards
Replaced one of the cards
