Eligibility Criteria for ICICI Emeralde Private Metal - Discussion

Why you think so ?? Is it being given liberally these days?
On another note,
Anyone who has experience with payback points reward program can share their views..
I was not in India during the majority life of that rewards program…
If your salary is not 3Lpm, it is difficult to get the cc. Cases of epm without this salary are pretty rare.

But you mentioned 50L deposit right? I believe @Panthera_Tigris got epm in a similar way. So yes with 50-100L deposit in savings, good chances of getting epm.

FYI, their ideal target of 50kpm ppop is achieved at 1.2cr in savings.

They are liberal as per their convenience. One don't need to fulfill all criteria.

End of the day, good TRV/customer profile along with BM/RM with good connect to upper management works.

friend applied for saving account for EPM only, his request for rejected saying saving account need to be 1 yr old. he had to open demat account too..
That's just an excuse. New saving account with good TRV works and CL above 8 L on present ICICI credit card.

Most BM just want to milk the EPM craze by customers. Finding branch with good BM is a challenge.

What was your TRV at the time of applying?

Savings account was around 50L and several times that in Demat.

Actually, I think it comes down to the RM. My original Private Banking RM didn't even ask about my ITR. He just said that it is an invite only card that requires 5 cr balance etc. He didn't even apply. I think he was just a lazy moron.

But when I switched branches, the new branch people applied and I got it.

I am not even sure what the ITR criteria is for self employed.

so, you have to have a savings account in ICICI to get EPM?
Yes savings account with good trv or salary account with 2.5 L plus monthly credit. They slightly relax 3 L monthly salary criteria if one holds decent trv.

Existing ICICI CC with 8 L plus limit will be of additional help too.

Any ideas on when would the welcome benefits be given?
Does one need to drop a mail asking them OR would they come on their own?

PS: Fees has been already charged and paid.
Normally would come on own max 45 days of fees being paid. Though mails come one each for points/ taj membership and eazydiner voucher, Check redeem rewards portal also - it also shows there as Welcome benefits. Some cases it doesn't like if faced issue. If calling customer care their first response is it will come with 45days.

And the fees is charged on first billing cycle?

Mainly because, I believe ICICI is never serious in their credit card portfolio with regard to their rewards program..
When I started my credit card journey in India about 7 years ago, they used to have something called payback points or something like that.. one fine day this payback thing suddenly disappeared..

What appeared after payback was again a poor reward system. There was no point ever of having any icici credit card, other than Apay. Infact not even EPM.
I took EPM on its launch (it was appearing as upgrade on ICICI Card account) only because of its joining benefit, bookmyshow offer and its card design. But after using it, found it a waste in rewards. Felt EPM was comparable to Regalia Gold.

I am of the opinion that history will repeat and this iShop thing might also get disappeared on one fine day ...or their reward structure might become obsolete...

History does repeat itself.
Right now ICICI looks conscious at issuing EPM… going selective … wants to issue to people from whom they can gain more. They have never been this careful for any other card in the history.
If this works for them. then we can count on rewards. But if it doesnot happen, then iShop would repeat history with devaluations.

Very frankly, I was already looking at closing EPM on its anniversary in this year. Probably several other would have been thinking this. I remember @Shubham330 who had LTF Sapphiro and paid EPM, and he chose to keep Sapphiro and went ahead to close EPM.

But with launch of iShop lets look at how rewards works.
