Update: My epm got approved today!
I was trying to get it from mid-Feb. Took a solid 2 months to get approved!
The process to get EPM is complicated and different from all other Icici credit cards. First you have to get 3-4 approvals, Branch Manager, Regional Head, Sales Head, State Head. State Head approval is hardest to get. After approval RM or cc agent will apply for the credit card. If you apply the credit card before the approvals, your application will simply be withdrawn after few weeks.
I went to 3 branches, only for RMs to promise EPM and then ghost my calls after a week. Who helped me in the end was a corporate RM. For some reason it is easier for them to secure approvals, as has been the case in multiple stories in this post.
I contacted this particular RM on April 1st. Took them 2.5 weeks to get required approvals. Then the rest of the process took 3 working days. So clearly getting approvals is the hardest step.
While I did have a wealth account, I am now confident it is a very weak requirement for EPM, if at all. CL > 10L helps. Salary > 3L is almost a must. I say almost because my salary for last few months was slightly lesser than 3, yet this cc got approved. I have also heard people getting approved it with as low as 2.5L. You never know.
So yes Tl dr; If you have >3L pm net salary, keep trying and with a bit of luck you will get it. Definitely do not require to meet the shitty 50k per month PPOP criteria (I mean, who even meets this criteria). If >2.5L, it’s tricky; maybe negotiate hard.
