Federal Bank - Fi Money and Jupiter Hike Service Charges for Savings Accounts from June 1st, 2024

Summary: Federal Bank & Fi Money customers will experience increased service charges from June 1st, 2024. This affects Virtual & Physical Debit Card issuance, account closure, and AMB requirements.

Article: In an email, Federal Bank notified customers of changes in service charges for Federal Bank-Fi Money & Jupiter Accounts. From June 1st, 2024, customers will face revised fees in various banking areas.

Virtual Debit Card Charges: The issuance of a Virtual Debit Card will now cost ₹354 (including GST), an increase from previous pricing.

Physical Debit Card Charges: Customers will be charged a flat fee of ₹399 (including GST) for the issuance and maintenance of Physical Debit Cards. This applies to all account types except Salary Accounts.

Account Closure Charges: Closure of Fi Money accounts after 14 days of creation will cost ₹299 (including GST).. This is applicable to all account variant

Zero Balance Accounts: All accounts, including Standard, Plus, and Infinite, must now maintain a minimum monthly average balance (AMB). Specific requirements have not yet been disclosed. These changes may disappoint customers who opened accounts in early 2021 when fees were lower.

I got this message from Jupiter regarding debit card annual charges:

"The debit card annual maintenance charge can be waived off if the following conditions are met.

1) Non-ATM Eligible DC transactions** of Rs.25000 or more in the preceding 12 months of the period 2) PRO/Salary account holder in any 6 months in the preceding 12 months"

Inke executive ne bola tha ki Paytm wallet me money add karne pe bhi waiver ke liye aap eligible ho.
( I knew it is not possible)
For bhi Maine 1 lakh ka rotation kiye.

Other than wallet load pos transaction 15k ke around tha .

Ye bank sirf logo ko ch..... Banane ke liye baithi hai ...

Mere pas mail hai nodal ka ki account zero balance hai lekin aap dekh sakte ho site pe .

Kuch bhi karlo aap debit card ka annual fee charge karenge hi koi na koi reason dekar ..

I have a Fi account with physical debit card. Have 10k+ in account. Will add 40k more to make it infinite for an overseas trip in last week of this month. I did same in January for a trip and it worked well. So, I want to keep it for convenience on this trip till June end.

After that, how should I get rid of this bank with minimum charges?

Since, I have a physical card. I suppose charge has been introduced to virtual card as well, so it should be applicable there also. Request you to reach out to their support. I usually contact them via Twitter and they respond pretty quickly.
