Hi Team,
After a recent international visit of my family to singapore n they used my fi debit card (cos of zero forex for infinite n prime plans) from 27th March to April 3rd

For safety I had turned off international txns in card once they reached india on 3rd itself.

Today morning (april 5th) I got a debit message which got failed due to insufficient balance and I did not do this. I m not sure which currency the payment was done. So some one has stolen the card details

The card was used only for metro and bus at Singapore.

I have frozen the debit card now. I could not reach help with fi team . Should I raise dispute but it's asking atm or pos which I don't know

The merchant was DLO*BOLT.EU/O/2504042. When I checked this merchant in Google there seems to be fraud in this name which I got to know via reddit but those seem to be credit card

I m thinking to block and replace fi debit card n not use it again for international.

Would like to get help if this is ok n how to complain further?

Block it n ask for replacement. Show the SMS/eMail you got to seek any replacement charges.

By the way, is that trxn any way related to any failed/dropped trxn you guys tried there ? Just curious.

All txns got passed thru in Singapore n nothing was failed

Fi care team replied saying there was mandate setup but I never setup n hence it failed

They told to cancel the mandate but in mandates I don't see any

Clearly there is some data leakage or someone got the card details

The Automated Mandate usually gets kicked up when you do some International Trxns - even if you do not like it or initiated by you or authorised by you.

For example, even if you sign up to PayPal - Indian site - it activates the CC debit automatically.

Similarly, when you take 1 yr of Zoom Webcast/VideoCon service - they automatically activate the mandate.

There is no way to reverse it - except blocking the card and asking for a replacement card - with different number. Almost all International Trxns are carried out OTP-FREE.

Oh what is the reason for this auto mandate to be setup. Seems like a authorised scam. Also if the mandate is setup we should be able to see it but in this case I m not able to see it. This seems to be a big loop hole if it's authorised

I understand the purpose of using Debit card for 0% Forex txns.

I always suggest to use Forex Prepaid cards or Credit Cards for international txns. As any ways the txn got failed, please use block and replace for a new card.

Raise a complaint with Fi, but I guess their service is not upto the mark.

That's where additional layer of security 2 factor Authentication is provided in India. Good to have that system with the kind of awareness we have.

It will be there in the terms n conditions of the POS/Acquiring bank and the same are usually displayed for such a brief period that you can't read them.

Next time you do any international trxn, take time to read all that is displayed and for which you tick those boxes accepting them. You will be shocked to see the contents thereat.
