Finally Upgraded to IDFC Wealth Banking Program

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a small win with the community. After being with the IDFC First Bank 10K variant for a while, I finally got my account upgraded to the Wealth variant!

I reached out to my RM and had a detailed discussion. He agreed and processed the upgrade smoothly on ₹5 lakh deposit and also purchased a health insurance policy through him.

Here’s how it went:

26th March: I contacted my RM to request an upgrade.

Same day, I made a ₹5 lakh deposit into my account.

Also on the same day, I purchased a Niva Bupa health insurance policy (Note: IDFC has tie-ups with multiple health insurance providers, but I personally chose Niva Bupa).

27th March: My RM shared the consent link for the wealth account upgrade.

30th March: My account was successfully upgraded to Wealth.

3rd April: Got confirmation that my Wealth kit has been dispatched (yet to be delivered).

The whole process was pretty smooth after completing the deposit and insurance requirement. Big thanks to my RM for coordinating everything quickly.

Also, a big shoutout to the Technofino community—reading the experiences and discussions here really helped me understand how to approach the upgrade smartly.

What is MAB for wealth account?

Normally 10L, that should be maintained for 3-6 months but skipped that part and upgraded my just 5L deposit.
And It was 10K variant

I don’t think it’s a big deal as long as the health insurance fulfils its purpose. We all have coverage anyway ... either through employer or something we’ve bought ourselves.

Well it's health insurance, Not term Insurance Or tricky ULIPs that RMs selling for Upgrades,

I didn’t take this policy just for the upgrade. I genuinely needed Niva Bupa Health Insurance, and I would have purchased it anyway—whether through my RM or directly from the website. Even if the upgrade wasn’t possible with this policy, I would have still gone ahead and bought it because I needed the coverage.

Premium amount was around 9800/Y for Titanium+ but I bought 3Y Plan (For 24157)

There is a major issue buying health insurance policies through RMs. They wont be able to help you during policy claim process. And 90% of the time, claims are rejected because of frivolous reasons and you would need a good agent on your side.

My account opening experience is pathetic with IDFC,

I had a prior talk and agreement with them for IDFC Wealth Salary Account

I was ok for IF of 10lac still idiot people opened Platinum Salary Account,

Upon complaint they want 5-7 days to upgrade chu***a bank.

Gave deadline for Monday if not then will move to Axis Burgundy.

My CCTC is 38LPA. I didn't like HDFC at all they are the biggest chu***a bank I ever experienced
