Hey,
I'm planning to buy an apple watch from apple Malaysia. Plan is to order from apple website to my Malaysian relative's home a week before I travel there. I'm planning to use my SBI cashback to buy it. If I understand correctly, the forex charge would be around 4.25% and I'll get a 5% cashback, so no extra loss. Is there some better way to go about this purchase? I have Pinnacle, Sapphiro and Millenia.
Was considering opening an indus exclusive account with pinnacle to get the debit card, but not very keen about breaking my FDs to get the initial funding. Also should I be using my sbi casback on taxi/food ordering apps in Malaysia? Would that still give me cashback?

It all depends upon MCC codes.

For big purchases I would suggest to do a failed trxn, get to know mcc and then complete.

Use Au ixigo, if you have one. Zero forex + 2.5% cashback as ixigo money, which can be used 100% for any flight or hotel booking.
