Golf benefits

For my Bangalore based friends: which one would you suggest for a first time golfer? I intend to go for lessons with my brother. All the golf parks are almost equidistance from my place(read very far.)

I was thinking either Eagleton or Prestige. I would ideally not like to shell out extra for the first time. Just want to check out if it is something I like then we can take it up.

I have been using the Golf benefit regularly for almost a year now, generally on credit card you will see Golf "Lesson" or "play", for lesson everything is included , you dont need to pay anything extra. They will assign you a Coach for 30 mins + 50 balls to play + an iron/driver club.

While if you choose Play, then there's lot of extra charges, you need to pay for Caddy + Clubs , also if you were new to golf then no point choosing Play, first take a lesson.

Ps: I book using Burgundy debit card + Select credit card, both have these benefits complimentary.
I have used the free lessons a few times. But still quite a way away from playing on the greens. But just wanted to check what are the charges per game after the green fees are waived off, like caddy, cart, kit etc. How much does it all add up to per session?

@Dragon_slayer Are lessons totally free? What about golf kit charges?

Anyone tried the golf benefits on the StanC Ultimate - Mastercard version? Some confusion on the entitlement, from StanC or Mastercard World? Or both? One a month for lessons, but fewer games, I think. Anyone has tried or has details?

Hi Folks,
I am planning to go to the Prestige Golfshire very soon.
1. As a first timer, please give me some suggestions as what kind of dress code we need to wear, what to carry, type of shoe to wear etc.
2. After how many lessons do we get a Handicap certificate??
3. For Golf lessons, are there any charges like golf cart, caddy, insurance, balls, consumables, rental, green fee etc??

1) Polo tshirt, trousers, sports shoes or golf shoes
2) Its not that straight forward, you need to give proper test. Could take months/ years. Although Certificate is not really required in most golf clubs in India
3) Yes, expect green fees and balls, rest neeeds to be paid from own pocket

You don't get handicap certificate after taking lessons, you get the certificate only after playing some fixed number of games on the golf course, usually not less than ten games. You need to be a member of golf club to get the handicap certficiate, which is very expensive.Golf clubs usually don't give handicap cerificate to non members.Generally you don't need handicap certificate, unless you are playing in a tournament.Forget about the handicap certificate now,and enjoy your game.

Can anyone share experience from hyderabad?
In Hyderabad Boulder hills golf course is available on all the cards,I played there once. Not sure about the golf lessons there, you should check on the respective card website for lessons,if it's included or not.Hyderabad golf club is available for play on Amex now,it's recent addition.
