I have both Infinia and EPM. Points to noteFor infinia, what are the additional charges that needs too be paid for golf lessons. Mention mandatory and optional charges in crisp way
Thanks , got it.I have both Infinia and EPM. Points to note
Only primary card holders get golf benefits, while all other card benefits like lounge etc are available for add-on card holders as well.
Always suggest to start with lessons as they are completely free, NO additional charges ( coach, balls, clubs). Only thing to take care of is dressing, generally, smart casual pants (not jeans) will do with collared Tshirts paired with sport shoe with good grip.
If you book a golf game, green fees are fully waived. Along with the right dress code you will need a set of golf clubs in a bag. Suggest to buy an used one to begin with in 20-30K inr range
Additional charges to keep in mind,
caddy fee 300-500 that you will need to pay at the reception
Buggy fee instead of caddy fee of about 2K for large golf courses like prestige golfshire in mandatory
Tipping at the end of the game to the caddy is an expectation, 500 inr is sufficient generally. Remember that the caddy is the one who is helping you through the game, spotting the ball, right club selection, swing correction. If you find a good one, make sure to tip properly and engage him in all your games.
Apart from these, you might have to shell out about 1000-1500 for food, breakfast, brunch or lunch depending on when you start the game and how many holes you play. For example at Prestige Augusta which is relatively inside the city and a small course of about 1800 yards on total, you can finish in less than 3 hours even if you are bad and ball is out of play multiple times, which means you need not spend on food at all.
If you go for larger golf courses then you will definitely have to budget for food as well.
DM if any more questions related to Bangalore courses. Have played in all of them.
Lessons are free only on top card Infinia.I have Biz Black.
I live in Kolkata.
Never played Golf.
Where in my city can I play/learn for free?
While I have no comment on your statement about bizblack offering, your first statement "lessons are free only on top card infinia" is unfortunately incorrect.Lessons are free only on top card Infinia.
For bizblack, you can have 6 complimentary games a quarter. Only one golf course is free on the card, Tollygunge Golf Club. Call the concierge toll free number and check for quarterly spend criteria.
There is minor cost only which is not issue for hdfc bank. Golf course avilable only for high end cards (rich client). Golf course earn money via lessons, foods & drink, rent and many others way. So more people coming, more profit them. Win-win situation for everyone.I wonder about the same thing, how can HDFC give unlimited golf games with Infinia?Weekend games or for that matter week day golf games are costly, how are they sustaining it?
Hi Thanks for pointing it out. Just checked out the HDFC swiggy card. You are right, it gives 12 lessons per year under mastercard golf programWhile I have no comment on your statement about bizblack offering, your first statement "lessons are free only on top card infinia" is unfortunately incorrect.
HDFC offers golf lessons on many other cards. In fact, HDFC Swiggy which is LTF offers lessons.
As someone who has Infinia (lucky to have got it 7 years back), I really feel for those who don't have it especially where golf is concerned.Hi Thanks for pointing it out. Just checked out the HDFC swiggy card. You are right, it gives 12 lessons per year under mastercard golf program
Looks like all cards which are MC world variant cards can get into this and there are lot of them around. Someone who holds these cards can call the CC and check the validity of the same.
- Access to golf courses worldwide and 12 free lessons per year
- 4 complimentary rounds of green fees per calendar year
Also assumption being that after lessons ppl want to graduate to playing games, best to move to higher card (like Infinia, EPM etc)wherever possible as they have unlimited golf games ( theoretically only , as you need clear 4 days between booking you can do like 70 games a year).
Hi I am Chander looking to join once a week any 3 ball golf games in and around Bangalore been playing golf for 25 years handicap is 16.Thanks.Hi TF Community
Wanted to share my experiences and provide tips for using Infinia in Bangalore for Golf.
Courses where I have used the card successfully:
Clovergreens - My personal favorite. I am there almost every fortnight. Green fees in weekend is roughly 4K which becomes Zero with Infinia. Mandatory Caddy Fee of 700 (I normally pay 800). Course is near Sarjapur (opposite exide factory in Tamilnadu border). You can play early mornings (lovely weather + sunrises)
Prestige Golfshire - Difficult course to play but very posh. Green fees in weekend is roughly 7.5K which becomes Zero with Infinia. It is a course where you have to pay for buggy/golfcart. Mandatory buggy/caddy fee of 1,800 + you need to pay caddy another 200 once the game is over. Course is near the airport on the way to Nandi Hills. Cardholders are given slots to play only after 11.00
Zion Hills - 9-hole course with different target/flag when you are playing 2nd time. (For the uninitiated - golf is normally played over 18 holes). Green fees in weekend is roughly 3K which becomes Zero with Infinia. Caddy is optional, so if you are willing to push/pull your own trolley, you can play for FREE. Course is far from Bangalore. It is after Kolar town, which is around 75 km from city centre. You can play early mornings.
Thanks for reading. Let me know your comments & I will keep updating the main thread based on what folks want to know.
Cheers
